I thought they seemed rushed, with little info (they were too short!) and seemed like they were just thrown together really late. What happened to the FMV endings? Am I the only one who thinks this?

Regarding FMV endings, they're very expensive. The intro FMV alone cost half a million dollars, and that was only a couple minutes long. Perhaps you didn't hear about this, but Midway has been having serious financial problems in recent years, and FMV endings weren't in the budget.

As for the content, I don't think they gave any less information than have the endings of past MK games. Some characters, such as Scorpion, Li Mei, and Quan Chi had endings that just sucked, either because the character died (as with the former two) or with stupid concepts (such as "Liu Kano" in Quan Chi's ending). Overall, howevefr, I thought most characters had decent endings. FMVs would have been nice, but financial constraints made them unfeasible.

I didn't know Midway was having financial problems!
I also didn't know the opening FMV cost half a mil! Still if you charge $70-80, probably $50-60 US and you sell millions of copies world wide how are you in financial difficulty???
I heard that MKDA had sold 3M copies (worldwide or US - I dont know) that has to be a huge profit?
Sure the production methods are costly and paying all the actors, workers etc. will consume some of the profits, but I'm still surprised to hear of the money troubles.

I thought the endings were decent enough to get the point across. Though, if they are going to do the still frames I'd like to see some artsy fartsy shit. Like, some charcoal renders of the characters, or some pastels or oils or something. I like that kinda shit, not sure if any one esle would be down with that stuff, though. They could do some in-game FMV, like in MK4, but not have it suck. tongue

As far as Midway being down on the $$, eh, who knows? Though, there is a LOT of over-head. How many employees does Midway employ? The average designer sallary is like 60k. Most programmers who are worth a shit make 100-200k. Least from what I've experiened - my roomate had a friend who was 21 or something and MS picked him up for around 180k just straight out of college 0_0. Then you have all the PR, production, packageing, advertising, etc. It adds up pretty quickly, I'd imagine.

MK: DA endings I thought were good. Also MK: DA's endings were like to be continued. MK: DA's ending to me at least leap pads for the next Mortal Kombat instead of the normal end of story ones from past MKs.

If they van't affford to have FMV endings they should have had many more picks in each ending.
Some of the Endings were to short and uninteresting
eg Sub-Zero

I was a little disapointed about the fmvs, but now that I know why I'm cool with it...
I think the endings were great they just need to put a little more thought into it and a helluva lot more pics in them.
