I think that *at least* UMK3 or MKT (with the bosses being banned obviously) should be represented at the next EVO. Playing those games on a world class level takes as much skill as playing Turbo SF.

Anyone have any thoughts? I assume the real debate would be 1> is anyone still playing these games enough to warrant it and 2> is there actually time for this (I think the main focus this year will be obviously and deservedly be Tekken 5)

UMK would be nice, but it's not going to happen. No other MK really deserves it.

I think it should, but I doubt it will. UMK3 should be there. GH MKT for PSX would be nice but you would have to ban the bosses and Noob Saibot.

MK2KungBroken had MKT set up at NEC a couple of times I believe without any huge draw from anyone. There arent enough players left for it. Maybe if the Kaillera community of UMK3 players grows more, it could make a come back at the tournies.

The general fan base for competitive players has to be like at least 1 in 5 in order to even draw attention to get a tourny going, meaning at least 1 in 5 people who show up to a tournament has to want to put money down to compete, and right UMK3 popularity is still probably like 1 in 50 (if you get 150 players you'll have about 3 serious UMK3 players unless there is some tainting of the results by these players talking to their other UMK3 friends about it before hand), and that's just for casual.

The last time I went to the Break it was me and Red Gouki pretty much playing for like an hour, with this guy Rat Boy watching who plays and sucks, but didn't have any money on him, and my friend Steve who use to play but no longer, than we were about to leave so we busted out the camera to get some matches on tape, magically about 5 or 6 guys gathered around and started putting quarters up. A couple had some real skill.

I wish they would advertise it, it would attract people from all over the world because I know people in at least 5 different countries who think they are the best.
