Like pics of beta versions and early versions, mostly of the select screen? Also out of curiosity (seriously just for curiosity/history reasons as you can tell), is MK4 out for emulation yet? like mame? And what do you guys think a final version of MK4 in the arcade would have been like if MK4 in arcade truly was unfinished? Was Goro always planned to be in MK4? Or just home games? Anyone have any links to history about this kinda stuff...

If you're interested in reading about MK4's development and various revisions I recomend reading the news archives over at TRMK.org. Look around mid to late 1997 and you'll be able to follow it all as it happened. It's very interesting, I reread it every few months. They may have taken it all down since their relaunch, I haven't checked. I hope not.

I am not sure where you can get a pic of the old selection screens. I wish I knew, as I'm really interested in that. Both MKT and MK4 went there MANY changes in selection screens before they came out. It'd be very cool to have access to pics of them from both games.

I followed MK4's development very closely but I can't remember them ever saying for sure what a final version would have been like or if Goro was ever going to be in the arcade. I am speculating that he was. When the home versions were annouced he was brought up very soon after. Also in a chat when UMK3 came out Tobias said "the shokan prince lives on..." hinting that Goro would return. Who knows though. It's possible they realized early on they weren't going to have enough time to do a sub-boss and just never considered anyone.

Yeah I guess that gives me some evidence to believe PS1/N64 MK4 could be considered the TRUE version (just like MK5/6 which are home versions are true versions)...
maybe it's a tie
