Sub-Zero - Kaptain Frosty

Liu Kang - Professor Wutah from the royal university of being an asshole! (When I was younger and hyper, I would shout abuse at the character that was beating me. This applied to all games. I can remember telling the Armadillios that they were F*ckers when they killed me in Crash Bandicoot.)

Baraka - .B.A. Barakas

There were so many great names for "combos" from MK and MK2. They'd list a bunch of moves to do in a row that in no way combo and give it a snazzy name. It'd be great to hear what some of those are.

I swear, everyone and their brother called it the "Van Damme Spear" back in the day. But now, I can't even find 1 google match for that phrase.

Was it all a dream? Am I going crazy?

I think I vaguely remember some random magazine saying "Van Damme Spear." Could be my imagination, but when it was brought up in this thread it seemed to trigger some distant memory.

Also I remember an issue of Game Informer that had a MKT move list where they inserted these bizarre names for all the autocombos. Like there was a 3-hit kick combo called "History Lesson." Weird stuff like that, I'll have to see if I can find the magazine.

Why "Van Damme" though? Doesn't that imply that in one of his movies, JC Van Damme threw a spear rope like Scorpion? Somehow I don't see JC doing that.

Going through an old MKT strategy guide (one of two 'OFFICIAL' guides I have, how does that work?) I came across a few:

Sonya Fatality - Squash Orb

Classic Sub Zero Fatality - Stalagmite Stab

Cyrax air throw - Air Run

Ermac TKS - Mind Lift

Jade return boomerang - Second Chance

Jax's dash punch - Bionic Rush (I like that one)

Liu Kang's red bike kick - Super Kick

LK's flame fatality - Mental Torch

Kung Lao's spin fatal - Vaccuum Cleaner

Noob Saibot's cloud fatal - Spirit Spin

Rain's water ball - Mind Control Orb (I prefer this)

Scorpion's multality - The Gathering

Sindel's scream - Wave dizzy

Stryker's gun - The Gat

well I do call raiden the psyco thundergod right now, usually while hiding behind a pillow when someone is fighting against him so I don't know if it counts

the only one i remember doing is for Baraka, Baracuda Shit...in fact, i still use that. grin
Kahn's Moves: Shadow shoulder, Victory knee, Plasma spear, Plasma shot

Jax's Moves: Sonic Boom, Ground pound, backbreaker, Gotcha grab, multi slam, dash punch, fireballs

Noob's moves: Shadow ball, double throw

Rain's moves: Tractor ball, bolt

Motaro: Tail shot, Grab

Goro: Rocket fist, pounding

Kintaro's moves: Mouth blast, tele stomp

There are others.

Rain's Roundhouse - Ultra Kick
Raiden's Torpedo - "Johnny bought a car!" or "I'ma gunna die!". It kinda sounds like he's actually saying "Flying Thunder God!" in later games like MK:DA.
Shao Kahn's Hammer - Collar Bone Smasher
Cyborg-Smoke's spear - Cyber-Spear or trident. I really liked this move because it looks different from Scorpion's, and has a nice pull-in sound. I hope they bring it back in MK:A.
Sub-Zero's Shoulder Dash in MK:D - "Hai yong gon zitty!". It sounds like he's saying something in chinese/japanese like that, if anyone can translate, thx.
One of Darrius's moves - "Aheem!"

Shinnok - shnook (I thought his named was proncounced shinook at the time)
raiden's electrocution (the chest bursting one) OW owowowow geez kill the guy already he's suffering, god listen to those screams... this is why I don't like the thundergod people, he is evil I tell you EEEEVVVIIIILLLLL
anyway I would call scorpion the zombie ninja, untill someone corrected me on that, of course I would say it all happy kinda like this "EEEEE ZOMBIE NINJA ZOMBIE NINJA"
