For whatever reason, GameSpot has decided to add some screenshots for MK3 to their website:

Weird... and I noticed that every piccies has stryker in it. Maybe it's a hint for mk6, maybe Stryker is returning to MK?

I'd say that's in preparation for Midway Arcade Treasures 2.

UMK3 screenshots have just been added. well, if it was for preparing for MATII, then why would they add screenshots for 1942 (made by Capcom) and Robotron 2084 (in MATI)?

I could see them going through and adding info about as many MK games as possible. That way, when people go there for news on the newest game, and they type in "Mortal Kombat" and search for it, it looks like they have a lot of coverage of the MK series.
But the date kinda ruins them having coverage on it, atleast on time coverage that is.
I think it's cause of the MAT2 release is why. Otherwise it just makes them look like they are late with coverage and not a good site with coverage on every game. Also considering the MK series was one of the most popular(if not the most popular)makes it even worse.
So it's safe to assume it's cause of MAT2.
