Since everyone is so picky about either MK3 or UMK3 I have an idea. After MAT2 ships and I've played it for a while, I'm going to see what makes the game tick. I mean, I'm going to look at the file structure and such and see if I can't just burn a new version of MAT2 on a DVD-R for a mod-chipped console replacing the MK rom with the other MK rom since I'm sure they can both run on the same emulator.

If you look through the disc files on your computer you will probably find the game ROM's. Earlier this year I put in my Chrono Trigger(PSOne version)disc and found the SNES ROM on it. I copied and pasted the file to my SNES emulator folder and sure enough the game ran on the SNES emulatoro.

I was going to make a similar topic, but I was thinking if people can hack MK DA on Xbox, they could hack MAT 2 and make the "MK 2 with Extras" version with all of those features from that topic. That would be cool.

Sega's classic pack also had ROMS for Sonic the Hedgehog and the other games that were included in the package.

Thats cool. It had the changed text in it and everything? That must have looked funny. Did its save game work? I was wondering if they changed the code for the game for saving to game memory or just put it into the emulator to go to memory card instead of the cart.

#1 - Yes, it was the Playstation version, all they probably really did was take the original SNES ROM and hack it to change it.

#2 - Yes, it's saved game worked, it saved to my computer as a regual standard SNES save format. It was probably the emulator they used for the Playtation. They created their own for the game, they didn't use an open-source one(SNES9X, ZSNES, etc.)

I would assume that the arcade ROMS from the MAT2 will be on the DVD-ROM for the PS2 and Xbox versions. Unless Midway finds a way to hide the files from allowing anyone to see them.

Very interesting. Was there emulation involved with previous MAT? I don't really know anything about MAT so I dunno if it even fits the discussion, but it might offer insights into how they will do things with MAT2.

Not to be a downer, but these MK ROMs have been available for a long time now. If this hacking was possible, wouldn't SOMEONE have figured it out by now? How will the release of MAT2 change anything?

Actually I should clarify, I was referring to Fire_Thief's post.
