Have anybody here ever owned or played any of the MK ports on Gameboy?

I owned the first 3, and decided it's not worth my time to get the 4th since MK3 gave me an awful impression of these ports. Don't get me wrong, I loved the the original 2D arcade presentations.

Other than MK2, I would have to say the rest of the gameboy ports were awful.

I find the controls to be horribly inconsistent. Slow, and laggy.

Example: In MK3, Cyrax's Teleport almost happens once in a blue moon regardless of how I enter the command Toward, Toward, Toward + Block (Start). It just comes out rarely and randomly, while the AI controlled Cyrax can bring it out multiple times.

Also, Kabal's Babality did not work regardless of how I entered Toward, Toward, Toward, Toward + Kick (Button A), maybe the commands are wrong in all the FAQs that I've found and read on the internet. I did rememebr NOT to press Block on the Winning Round since it is a requirement for executing a Babality.

His Fatality, and most of his other moves worked fine, although sometimes I end up kicking the opponent instead when I tap the command Toward, Toward, Block, Block, Block, Kick.

I used to own all the MK Gameboy games and to be fair they were all awful. MK2 was the best of bad bunch by a long way so I played that the most. What was disappointing in that game was that Shao Khan was ridiculously easy. 4 kicks and u win? Expected a bit more of a challenge for a boss battle

yeah I remember buying mortal kombat 1 from funcoland then later I got the rest. There in a box somewhere now. mk2 and mkdeadly alliance were the only ones worth playing though.
