you know how in MK:D's sub-boss with noob-smoke broke the tradition of having a monster as a sub-boss well most people don't realize it also broke the tradition of having a human as a boss, remember (onaga dragon king monster) just felt that i had to tell ugrin

Well MK4(arcade) had no subboss at all and a normally playable character with no special moves as final boss.

I realizede it, heck I made a topic about it when I first joined and went more in depth. I even put it in the right section.

Mk4 (arcade) didn't have goro in it?

Technically the sub-boss in MKD didn't break the tradition. They aren't humans. One is a wraith the other is a cyborg.

Motaro isn't a monster.

Shang Tsung isn't a monster.

Shang was a sub sub boss in MK2 I mean look at it
MK1-Goro
MK2-Kintaro
MK3-Motaro
UMK3-Motaro
MKT-Motaro
MK4-Goro(but in the arcade it was Quan Chi)
MKDA-Moloch
MKSM-Kintaro
Quan Chi was not the sub boss in 4.

None of the bosses/sub bosses were Human either. Human shape maybe, but not Human.

Yeah, Quan Chi is NOT a subboss in MK4 arcade. He is in the exact same position in the towers as he is in console. You can fight him in the middle or whatever or not at all. All the towers in arcade are the same as they are on console just without Goro, so the subboss is just whoever happens to be in front of Shinnok.

On console if you do 2 on 2 in one player Chi will be Shinnok's partner....and Cage will be Goro's.

I remember something about Quan Chi being the sub-boss in the arcade versions, however, you have the machine - I don't, so I'm wondering:

was he the sub boss in the early prototype editions, like the ones they put out for the MK4 road tour?

I just seem to remember reading that he was the sub boss before, but that may have been bs from these forums, I can't remember.

Nope, he never was even in a beta. I don't think Road Tour had any kind of one player towers at all. Shinnok wasn't even boss until VERY late in development. He wasn't made boss until the betas for revision 2, so even when it first shipped nationwide for revision 1 there was still no boss.

Maybe you just saw someone else bring it up here who had assumed he was. I've seen it before too. It makes sense, he SHOULD have been. Considering how Shinnok was just slapped into the boss position when the game was already out I'm guessing they had originally planned for something else to be boss, like a monster form of Shinnok or something.

It's pretty amazing how rushed MK4 was. People complain about MKDA missing content.....when MK4 originally came out it had no boss, no story, almost no fatalities and was missing 3 characters. The entire character of Reiko wasn't even designed until the game had already came out. MK4 was such a debacle.
