Hi everybody,

Here is a link to a combo video that my friend and I put together.

It has roughly 6 minutes and 10 seconds of nonstop combos. All but one of them are above 60%. My friend came up with a Robo Smoke combo that he really liked that only does 52% so thats in there too.
The cream of it is a collection of around 19 combos that do 100%+ damage. There is a mixture of self-terminating combos (where the person dies before a section of the combo finishes, e.g. in the middle of an autocombo), there are also plain old combos that do at least 100% and have no repetition to them. Its hard to estimate how much they do exactly because the damage meter can only display up to 99%. And then there are also a number of infinites, some startlingly easy.

In addition to that are countless other combos that do big damage.

The video uses footage from UMK3 for the Arcade and MKT for the PSX. All combos using 2 UMK3 characters were done on the arcade. The PSX was only used to make combos for characters that are exclusively in Trilogy. Something about using the arcade makes it seem more valid, so I really wanted to stick with that. Also, there are no combos for Noob Saibot. He's just too broken to bother with.

So here is the link:

http://www.darktemplarz.com/combovideos/

There are a few versions of the video at different sizes. Just look for UMK3.wmv for the high quality or UMK3.avi for the very high quality.

If anyone has any big damage crazy combos to add, please let me know at dreemernj@hotmail.com as we will probably be updating the combo vid periodically with new findings. We'd be happy to have more input and will be glad to give credit for it.

Check it out and Enjoy.

Peace Out

When I say broken I mean its just too easy to get big damage with him. He has at least 7 infinites, so why even bother. I wouldn't want to put those against things like the Sindel Flight Cancel infinite which is nearly impossible to get.

For everyone else, thanks for the comments, glad to hear its going over well.

The video was editted in Adobe Premiere 6.5 with special effects made in Adobe After Effects and Particle Illusion(A really really kick ass little program).

Menthol: I was wondering if anyone here ever visited Shoryuken. The MvC2 vids that are there are completely done by my friend Shock (aka MK2KungBroken here). But, for the UMK3 combo vid we split the work about 50/50. Pretty much one of us would find something new and interesting, and improve on it a bunch and then the other would take it and find news ways to improve it even more.

Also, everybody keep in mind that there is room for addition. There are more deadly combos that are definately possible that just didn't get done by the time of this video. For instance, the Reptile combo is only a portion, be it a large one, of the total possible combo. I am almost certain that we can squeek out a 100% damage combo from the dashing.

Also, there is room for more infinites for Smoke and Reptile using the invisibility to cancel the pushback off a punch in the corner but we didnt get that one done yet. We were really pushing ourselves to get this out as quickly as possible, but we will be updating it in time.

Again, thanx for the comments, I greatly appreciate. Now, go use some of these to kick some butt a the arcades if you can :P

Most people define broken as things that just shouldn't be possible, or are too easy to get, or do too much damage.

Noob Saibot is one of those things. First off, he has no legit infinites. He has pseudo infinites that can be prevented with the slightest bit of timing. The disabler in MKT is the fastest, most broken, most disheartening containment move I've ever seen, however, the fact you can still move around and just not be able to block or attack for a very brief time makes up for that. The teleport slam cannot hit you if you jump away, his body double move is very slow starting, and worthless to get anything decent off of. I left him out because he is just widely known for being a real piece of crap, and I believe in any respectable tournament for MKT, if there is such a thing, he (along with bosses) is disqualified. He is also unusually fast. He backs up faster than most characters walk forward.

Onto other things, everybody, thanks for checking out the video and great response.

I'd love to see a Shang combo switching between characters for an infinite or something snazzy like that. Not sure if it's possible or if you have the patience but that would be tight.

Just wait, we've got some Morph combos, but we didn't include any because they are kinda stale at this point, like ground eruption, morph, and set up, that's really what the ground eruption is for, but it's so tough to get someone with. There is a lot that can be done still, and we're still working on characters more.

Depends on if you can get something for the IMac that can play WMVs (Windows Media so perhaps not) or Divx. I assume there are Divx codecs but not sure where to get them for a Mac.

What version of MacOS do you use?

As for the Shang Tsung morphing combos, as MK2KungBroken mentioned there is still quite a bit to work on. Unfortunately the limitations on combos are not reset when you morph. So, if you get more then 1 hit before you morph and then morph into Robo Smoke, you can't do the teleport uppercut because its already disabled. Stuff like that. Similarly for other characters the Telekenetic slam and spear are disabled after 4 hits I *think*. I am so UMK3ed out from doing these damn combos I can barely keep a straight thought about the game, lol

We ran out of our 20 gigs or so of bandwidth in the first 6 days of the month lol. You'll have to wait until October, or you can PM me and I'll upload it to you over AIM or something.

Yeah, PM me also if you want the video because I can upload it to anybody that wants it as well. We really want people to still be able to see it. Its just a shame we ran out of bandwidth so fast (and so unexpectadly). 14 gigs on Sept 1st alone. Craaaaazy

WoW, thank you. We will be adding your name to the credits for this generosity, lol.

Look for service packs soon upgrading at least 10 combos to higher damage.

right click and save as for umk3.wmv, there is something wrong with your browser identifying wmvs as a streaming media file if it's coming up as text, because I just tried it and it's fine.

Thanks to Konqrr again for hosting the file.

To the people that did the UMK3 and MKT videos it was a pleasure to watch. It made me pick up the game again. It made me realise how crap I'am at the game too. Will we see any matches, because I think that is what most people would want to see after seeing those amazing combos.

Question: Can all the combos in UMK3 be done in Trilogy, and can anyone tell me how to do the runjab. I've got so much to learn.

PEACE!!!

I believe they can all pretty much be done in Trilogy. And also, there is a bunch more possible in Trilogy because of the new moves but we really havent focused on them too much.

There are some differences with Trilogy, but I don't think they prevent most of the combos. I think MK3 Kung Lao's spin is a little different or something like that, but nothing too huge.

Also, the way the runjab works is if you punch, you can essentially cancel the punch to anything. SO if you press HP and then press Run it will make the HP end faster. Similarly you can stop the HP by pressing LK or HK but that isn't as useful. You can tap the kick button fast enough to cancel the punch but not do the kick, but sticking with the Run jabbing is good for some rush down chip damage.

Watch for SP2 to be coming out. It should be pretty interesting, even if it does stray away from the original intention by including glitches.

Peace out
