Well, hopefully this thread DOESN'T get moved as I stated classic players in the title and oldschool jumping as well which were last seen in the classic MK's such as MK, MK2, MK3, UMK3 and MK4.
After that it's been really, really grounded which is ok, but like a lot of fans say.It just doesn't feel like MK without the jumping at times when needed to.
Well, my question for you classic players besides myself is this.
Are you guys excited about Midway bringing back the old jumping forwar and backwards again in MK:A?
This is strickly for the classic players on here, which is why it's not in the MK:A forums.Hopefully the mods see that I'm asking you guys, the players on here.
Well, I would like to hear your views on how you believe it will help MK currently with this old, useful feature being added once again in MK.
MK/MKG was the last game that it was until now, this coming October Almost 10 years since jumping in a (MK) fighter has been in there.I believe that since they will implement the jumping again, it will help and make MK:A more like the older ones as far as better zoning, strategy and smart use of jump kicks.
Well, what are your thoughts?

I think it is awesome, and a great move to add air kombat back into the game. I don't think it will be quite like UMk3, from the very little I've seen (I'm trying to avoid MKA stuff) it looks more like MKG, but anything is better than nothing, as it just adds a whole 'nother dimension to the fight. I have to admit that one of my favourite things about UMK3 is catching someone with a quick air throw, then running up toward them and catching them with another one, cus they foolishly went to jump back in - ah, the mind games!
Also, it creates more exciting combo potential, which is always good. I have no complaints when getting worked by a combo if it is a kick-ass, self-improvised innovative one, instead of a 10 string dial a combo they got off of the menu screen.
So yeah, I'm hyped about the return. Too bad (looking at the sidebar poll) no one else seems to be...

I see what you're saying man. lol

Only thing I disagree with is the fact that you said it looks like MK4/MKG.
I didn't get that vibe to be honest, lol.But hey to each his own man. We'll see once the game comes out.
MK4/MKG was ridiculously fast, MK:A definitely looks better, faster and smoother then the past two in lots of ways, but not nearly as fast as MK4/MK:G IMO.
No word yet on if you can use parries in the air lol, how insane would that be?

I'm really excited about this new jumping concept. I only hope it adds the excitement of old school jumping, with the characteristics of this new generation game phisics...

There is no one single thing that makes me like the classics over the new ones and adding in a more classic style of jumping isn't going to do it unless it fits flawlessly with the rest of the game. I would have been fine with the style they had in MKDA and MKD if they made the game work right. Adding it will do nothing for the game if the gameplay is as crappy as the past 3D mk games are.
Right now the jumping and the entire air combat system seems ridiculous but who knows maybe it'll be fun.

Well, here's the thing like you're very familar with the older games then most, I'm very familar with the newer ones(a good amount on the old ones) but of late the newer ones I've been playing since Deception.
Here's the thing, Malone is one of the elite players from Deception DreemerNJ, he had the opportunity to take notes, take notes from players on here as well that pointed out the flaws and make a report for Boon & company.
So, with that being said, there's LOTS of improvements that are already in motion and I think personally more fans need to be more optimistic but I would never force anyone to be.
I'm just saying after having lots of experience with Deception's flaws online for the Xbox, I'm aware of the glitches, free throws, OTG's and infinites that need to be fixed.
It will improve the gameplay, and I think surprise most. The air kombat, I could honestly live without but it's the fact that you can jump again which has me excited.
MK:DA and MK:D were more grounded, which IMO left you to be cornered more, crowded more and at times just no breathing room what so ever lol when compared to the older MK's, you could jump get away. With the previous MK's you couldn't.
But Malone's report was great, more positive then negative. He attempted the same glitches that were in deception with the same styles and so forth and they weren't there. The flaws were gone
The parries, throw escapes will NO doubt help and improve gameplay, it will balance out a lot of situations when needed and the jumpiing ability will also help out where in Deception and Deadly Alliance they were missing big time.
UMK3 is no doubt the best 2D MK game of all time(arguably best for some fans), I'm hoping MK:A will be the best 3D MK of all time.At least until next generation comes out fresh.
Cool thoughts guys, keep em coming.

I know i saw a vid of a crossover jump, that would be tits!
If the air combat is like shaolin monks, i'll be somewhat happy with it.
However, if its just more dial-a-combos just preformed in the air thats just bullcaca
peace

I remember playing you in Deception for the Xbox way back, we had great matches.I could only imagine you in UMK3 hehe. That would be fun.
You seem like you enjoy the older ones a lot as well.
