So shadow priest aren't the dudes in the tower/guarding the portal?

I've always believed they were the same, Portal Guards and Shadow Priests. From what I've seen of the Shadow Priests in a couple of Shang Tsung's endings, they look just like Portal Guards. All I know about them is that they worship Shang I suppose, I was actually hoping those rumors of a Shadow Priest as a hidden character in MKDA were true, but they turned out not to be.

The other information you got was about the member rankings, Shadow Priest is the highest rank a member can get. Though I don't think this means that Portal Guards and Shadow Priests are different in the game. Maybe Portal Guards are high ranking Shadow Priests in the game, but thats just a theory.

I think they are the same thing. BUt wouldent it be cool if we could play as one??? Imagine the cool black magic and all.

And Crow: That is awesome that Shadow Priests are the highest rank. I was wondering about the highest rank the other day, but a shadow priest title just never occured to me.
