Back then,. farmer uses the Sais as a tool to do you know farm stuff (like mixing soil i suppose). Then later it was used as a weapon. So i was thinking that, since Li Mei was a slave and that she and her people were building the palace, maybe the sais was a tool and Li Mei happens to be using it. (like i said its a thought)
