If he had of been named "Thundra" do you reckon he would have still been as popular, same goes for other characters in the series that could of been named differently.
Please refrain from using luring thread subjects.

That doesn't even make sense. Unless you were trying to say Tundra. 'cos with Thundra, I'm picturing a guy with very similar powers to Raiden.

But yeah, just imagine how lame Rain would be if his name was different. wink

lol Thundra was his name untill the last month/s of completion of the making of mk1
I'm going to have to go the other way and say it wouldn't have made a difference. Sure it's easy to say changing -x- name to -z- would have affected their popularity but we grew up with these names thats why we're so attached to them and resistant to anything different.

I highly doubt that had he been named Thundra you guys wouldn't be dissing the name Sub-Zero. With MK we associate the names of the characters with their special moves, stories and fatalities, thats what makes the characters great and so many fans worship them not a snazzy name.

Honestly, when you step back and look at it, Sub-Zero is a goofy ass name too.

Seriously, who has a hyphen in their name?

We've just grown accustom to it.
