Secrets and Revelations - Happy New Year from MK5.ORG!
Posted at 10:53 PM EST by DArqueBishop
2002 has come to an end, bringing to a close a very eventful year in the world of Mortal Kombat, including the long-awaited release of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance! As we ring in the New Year, we would like to shed some light on new developments in the MK world and community!
First off, we would like to congratulate Mortal Kombat Kourier, run by MK5.ORG's Fan Art Manager AcjBizar, for joining the Kombat Pavilion as a MK5.ORG hosted site. A member of the #mortalkombat IRC Network, MKK is a respected member of the MK community, and we are proud to support them in serving the MK community with the latest news in all things MK.
Speaking of latest news, the final secret in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (alluded to at Fight Night) has apparently been revealed. Forum member Dragula21 gave information detailing the nature of the final secret (if not the actual method of accessing it). From the forum post:
Well it turns out to be a button combination you enter, and it shows you what version of the game you have. They had like 200 some odd versions, and when you enter the combination, it displays your version number, that is it.
Forum moderator Mobster4Christ was able to confirm this information via a reputable source who at this time wishes to remain anonymous. In any event, it appears the veil surrounding the final secret has finally been lifted.
In closing, we at MK5.ORG would like to wish you all a safe and happy New Year. We will see you all in 2003, and continue to do our best to provide you with the best in coverage of the world of Mortal Kombat.
Let Mortal Kombat continue...

I think either someone (ed boon or john vogel, I think) said that was a code in the game but not the final secret, or people, upon hearing this news, said nah, that can't be it, it must be something cool...but they just didn't wanna face reality.

I remember being there during that chat and they had close to 1000 people silenced. They unsilenced for 15 secs and i have never seen page upon page of text pop up. All they ever said was "big secret", but everyone spent weeks upon weeks trying to find it out. We all originally thought there was something on the room to the right when you started the game. All we can hope for is that we will be completely shocked by the next MK: DA...
reptile* Wrote: this thread isn't pointless, its the big hype about the "final secret" that is pointless, when all it is is a code about showing what version you have. |
Which is why this thread is pointless. Eveyone here has already heard about the so-called "version code" and there wasn't any need for another about it to be made, so it is pointless.
if there was a BIG final secret i believe it would have been revealed by now, but i could be wrong... *thinkin back to older MK games*... but u also got to remember that boon and co. where on a schedule and was rushed to get the game out, so a lot was left out... and besides the version code has been around for well over a year now and i believe it... so all in all if there is another secret dont expect it to be Noob Saibot or anybody... LOL, just reminded myself of the whole ninja in the crypt and whisper rumor...

I'm guessing that if there is anything else besides this version number, it would have to be Moloch somehow being playable. I mean legitimately, not with a gameshark. I figure this makes sense since he's already got somewhat of a storyline along with Drahmin and he has a moves list. As far as finding out how to play as Moloch, I've been trying all sorts of things, like selecting Drahmin then holding the Attack and shoulder buttons during the loading screens, but nothing has worked out yet! I guess I'll just have to keep trying!
By the way, this is the first message I've posted on this site, since I'm a newcomer! It's nice to see there are still lots of MK fans out there after the series started 11 years ago!
