I've wondered this myself, actually. I know that the original Sub-Zero and Scorpion are the same age, but I don't think anything has ever been stated about the current Sub-Zero's age. It's been confirmed that the original is the oldest, but no Midway sources indicate that they're twins.
"hes my older brother"
"oh yeah, how far are you two apart?"
"20 minutes"

uh huh...

No they can't be twins because in mortal kombat deception it says that Noob was the original Sub-Zero & the one on deception was the youngest. It also said that if he wasn't consumed with so much evil that he would show pride for his younger brother, but he couldn't. Later he killed him but anyway that is why they can't be twins

Explain that one more time please. the cant be twins because one is older that the other? Or they can't be twins because at one point in time they cared for each other? I'm not following you.

I suppose its possible, but I really don't think theres any official evidence from Midway to indicate that they are twins, or aren't, for that matter. As someone else stated above, Sub-Zero V, the one who competed in Mortal Kombat 1, was older, but thats about all the info they give in that respect.

Personally, I don't they they are twins. I think theres a few years gap between them. I think it'd be more likely the Lin Kuei would have them working together as a team if they were twins, as they would have basically been on the same level of skill, rather than the sending the older Sub-Zero(V) on important missions and having his younger brother essentially living in his shadow. And I also seriously doubt they'd base it on a few minutes difference in birth if they were twins. I think they were probably 3 or 4 years apart, and that the younger Sub-Zero(VI) was still not at the peak of his training and abilities, as was his older brother.

It is also known that their father, Sub-Zero the fourth(IV), was a secret operative for the clan in the United States. He married an American woman and they had two sons and a daughter. Against the will of their mother, the father took the sons with him to move back to China to become Lin Kuei. Which kinda makes you wonder, whatever happened to the daughter? Were ice abilities passed from Sub Zero(IV) to all three of his children, or is it a result of Lin Kuei training, or pehaps a little of both?
Kind of interesting, maybe their sister is in the states somewhere keeping her drinks cold thanks to her fathers genes, lol.

I like the Idea of the Sub-zero brothers being twins, it would explain a couple things, like why they are both the same hieght and wieght, and also why the lin kuei sent the younger brother to finish the older brothers job.

I never entertained the possiblity before, and like what was said before, I always put 3 or 4 years between them as well. but it could add more depth to the noob/sub confrontation that is bound to happen in the future.

Imagine if the two brothers had the twin conection from birth, finishing each others sentences and all that, but while being trained under the masters of the Lin Kuei, they grew apart.

I've got a fanfic in my head, where during their Lin Kuei training, the older bro begins to manifests his kori power at an exeptionally early age and the younger brother developes late. As a result, the brothers are spit up, one recieving advanced training and the other almost shuned by his father and being normally trained. If I can put it together right, it could get really interesting.

Well, funny you should bring up such a thread. For years, I had considered the possibility that they are twins. I think that would be cool to see and the relationship between the two brothers should be like they look out for each other since they are the only real family each other has. The younger brother would look up to the older one since he's a great warrior but also one who opposed people like Quan Chi and Shinnok.

The Sub-Zeros got their powers through the bloodline from their father's side so it's really more of a genetic thing. I think that the Lin Kuei's training may have awakened it.

I all ways pictured the sub-zero brother's kori powers developing like the mutants in the marvel universe. where when they go through puberty (physical change) or some tramatic experience (mental change) then there special abilities are awakend.

Also since Sub's family has been a part of the Lin Kuei for years they most likely would have ways to bring out the best in their prospects.

First of all, don't bump threads older than 3 months unless permitted.

Secondly, you're wrong. Hydro is a character in the Malibu MK comics, which are NOT part of the canon storyline.

Lastly, read the rules.

Do what my lover Sub-Zero_7th says, and you'll be fine. I have to Skull you, though, because that's a pretty big bump to ignore.
