I haven't played MAT2 yet, but from what I've read around here it sounds as if it is pretty useless, and possibly not worth me spending $20 on (plus I already have MK3 for PSX, but I do want MK2...)
Anyways, I was thinkin after reading most of the post concerning how bad MAT2 is:
Is it possible that MAT2, and the MK1 port in the special MKD editions, were intentionaly left incomplete / full of errors because Midway is gonna release a 'real' arcade perfect MK1-MKT compilation in the near future?
I have heard around these forums that Boon and Co. have hinted at doing a compilation of all the 2-D MK games in the future, and that would make sense as to why MAT2 and MK1 came out crap. I mean, either they intentionaly left them like they did, or they didn't bother to check how the final version came out, cus there are just too many obvious mistakes that certainly could not be overlooked / missed.
I think it's possible that MAT2 and MK1 were intentionaly released by Midway w/ many glaringly obvious problems so that they can not only capitalize on selling the classic games now when MK fever is high (after MKD's release) and then AGAIN when they 'rectify' ALL the errors from MK1(which was obviously taken out of MAT2 to generate even MORE money) and MAT2 and say, "oh it was eclipse's fault, we have put 100% into this compillation, it is truely arcade perfect now."
That way many people will not only have bought the special edition of MKD for MK, but MAT2 as well. Then people will buy this 'truely arcade perfect' version of MK1-MKT so Midway can squeeze even more money out of the loyal MK fans...
