No, not really. But that doesn't disqualify them from the MK story. Funny thing is MKSF was so rushed there wasn't much of a story at all. I remember when the push of the game was going to explain the whole Sonya, Jax, Kano rivalry and all that shit. I bought it the 1st day I could, beat it that weekend, and was so pissed that there really was no story. It simply introduced a few new characters.

so no other games refer to what happend in special forces at all!?

Not really, they don't introduce anything that was specific to MKSF, at least to my knowledge, maybe I'm missing something...haven't seen any MKD endings yet

good I ask these question because im trying to get all the mk games that are official to the story line mk1-6 and mythologies and umk3 but not special forces because of 2 reasons first off it was a huge disapointment secondly its content story wise has nothing to do with any of the games or they would have metioned it well thats a relief off my shoulders

Yes, MKSF is in the MK continuity. However, it's merely just Jax taking out the Black Dragon on one mission.
Still, I read an interesing theory - the Eye of Chitian (the treasure that Kano found that he was going to use to take over in MKSF) may have been how Jax found out about other worlds, and may have been the start of doing research about otherworldly portals, soon creating the OIA. But the government trashed it and ordered it never be spoken of again. However, when Jax tried to get a lead to where Sonya's signal was, he found it to be somewhere undetectable. He decided to bring out the Eye of Chitian again and ventured in the world to rescue Sonya. Just a fanmade theory, but it sure sounds damn possible.
I mean, Jax never threw the Eye away, right? He just used it to take him and Kano back to Earthrealm so they could punish Kano. So, it's possible.
My guess - Kano escaped from prison and that's why he was "running from Sonya" in MK1. Why would he go to an island to get away from her? Cause he was more a fugitive than ever?
I think we could take more from MKSF than it grants us, but like I said, it's just a fanmade theory that sounds possible.
And, it's too bad it was half-assed in the end. Could've been better.
