Ive installed the winXP patch and everything (mktv2.sdb)...but whenever I run trilogy, I get to the character select screen and when I select a character I get an error message that says:

APPLICATION ERROR: C:\Mk_tril\MKTRILW.exe
An privledged instruction was executed at address 004d5f0c
Click on OK to terminate the application

Has anyone gotten this before or know how to fix it...Thanks iin advance.

i haven't tried it (still using 98) but this is supposed to fix up most of the bugs that affect MKT in 2000/XP

I know that USB gamepads are an issue. If you have a USB gamepad, try unplugging it. I have to unplug mine before I play MKT, otherwise there's no sound and the game crashes at character select. But if I unplug the pad and restart, it works fine.

If you rely on a gamepad to play MKT, I guess you're outta luck. Fortunately for me I use an arcade stick that emulates the keyboard.

Ive tried the patch ...it doesnt do anything. Ill try the gamepad thing b/c I do use a USB airflo PC controller.

Also I keep seeing that Im supposed to double click and run this mktv.sbd file that I put in my C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch directory...but I cant see how to install it since it's not an executable.

Thanks for the help though.

With that .sbd file, I think you just double-click it, and then it does something to your registry. I thought the same thing you did (about it not being executable), but I just double-clicked it and it worked.

The USB gamepad issue is a strong possibility, so let us know how that goes!
