That is because he is fighting a mirror match.

Esentially Kano VS Kano. Therefore, they need to be differentiated somehow.

No, he means even if it's not a mirror match, MK1 Kano's VS SCreen uniform's black instead of white. I think they were too lazy to do another pose wiht the old clothes, and just altered the colour of his suit to be darker.

Yeah, pretty much. They didn't want to make a new versus screen pic, but they didn't want to just use the existing pic. I would bet only the bits that show up as Red or Blue for MK3 kano are palleted, and the rest of the colors are part of the image. So they couldn't just make his whole outfit lighter. So instead they just went and made it black.

Yep, thats exactly why, lazyness. its all they could do with mk3 kano's VS pic.

But they had no problem putting on the old mk2 outfit to make a Raiden VS pic, a Baraka VS pic and a CAge VS pic. THey should have atleast got Divisio back to pose in the old MK1 uniform. Lazyness.

And what's really strange is the fact that they redrew so much for MK1 Kano. His ending stance and fatalities are new frames of animation. So they do a partial redraw of a character but then don't do a versus screen pic.

That is strange..people should ask Ed boon about the classic MK's more as there is stuff we still don't know.
