Try that:

1. Go in Practice Mode.
2. Choose Reptile.
3. Impale your opponent
4. Make this kombo: 1,3,4,CS,1,back+2,CS

After you pressed the last button (CS, L on XBOX, L1 on PS2) you will see, that Reptile will shove his opponent (after he 'uppercuttet' him in Air).

If you let the Impale out, he would take his Kirehashi Blade (after pressing CS), jumps and hits your opponent with a downward slice.

The same with Kitana. If You're impaling your opponent, do that long kombo (I forgot the Name, that from 1st style in 3rd). You will see, she will kick the victim (but doesnt hit him).
