ARen't both Kung LAo and Liu Kang descendants of the original Kung LAo who was defeated by Goro. HAs midway ever acknowledged that these two are cousins or brothers. SOmething other than friends.

Liu Kang is too, but I'm not sure they're are directly related. Maybe be like 5th cousin or something.
