i was first under the impression that while playing mk onlinethe person with the lower ping goes up to the level of the person of a higher ping......after playing a match in mk2 i have realized that i either have a slow computer(which i highly dissagree with)or the person i am playing with that has a lower ping is still playing at that speed while i remain at my ping (higher)thus after fighting my own self thoughts have come to the conclusion that players with a lower ping suceed 80 percent of the time while players with a higher ping cant pull off what they intend to do.....i myself am new to kail. thus am not used to lag, just wondering eberyones toughts on this issue

ps..i am not saying certain players are cheating only that lag indeed can be an issue or perhaps even mediocre computerscould be..ur thoughts an an explanation on lag and ping in a legitamite fashion thank you!@

This is a question that belongs in the online match making thread.

To answer it, ping is merely a snap shot of you sending data to the server and it sending back to you, once I believe. While you're playing your ping goes up and down constantly, as does the other person's. Whatever speed the game is going on your end, it is going on the other person's else the game will desync and you will notice this when the other person stops attacking mid match because on their end, they've won. Even people who have a low ping in the teens can still experience significant lag due to server issues, amount of people in the room, net traffic in their local area, etc. Stability is often times more of an issue than the actual delay in command input, because I can play with 1/4 second delay as long as it's constant, but most of the time my lag/delay/button loss is random. If I were you I'd just play the game until you get use to netplay and then see where you stand.
