I guess he's simply the noblest character of the series. He's the good-hearted main hero who is usually the underdog and overcomes enemies who seem to be too powerful (e.g. Shao Kahn). However, he's not really a complete goody-two shoes. I'm sure he feels regret for not accepting Kitana's offer to rule at her side back in post-MK4. The reason why is because he has his responsibilities as Champion of Mortal Kombat and Earthrealm's main defending mortal.

maybe if he had said yes he wouldn't have been killed at the begining of MKDA.

Okay, Liu Kang is so special because for these reasons:

1. He is the chosen one
2. He is the champion of Mortal Kombat
3. There is something in him that burns which makes him a great warrior.
4. He is the guardian of Earthrealm and Edenia

Liu Kang is like the main character . . . He should never be killed off, I mean look at Deadly Alliance. MK could not survive without Liu Kang for ONE game man! He is the champion, and thats that. Him and Kung Lao are important to the Legacy of MK. Everything in MK is based of of Liu Kang if you sit down and really think about it.

His moves are cool and he is easy to play as plus he is the ultimate MK character

Liu Kang is Earthrealm's champion. He got killed by Shang Tsung and had his soul consumed by the sorcerer. His moves are easy but his storyline imo is quite boring. I doubt it if he will live on for next gen MK. He has a good chance to die. If Liu survives, he should retire imo. Kung Lao is the only monk I root for to live.

Dragonking1, what's wrong with you?
Everyone knew from the beginning that Liu Kang is THE hero.
Even though the MK stories has a lot of characters and spin-off stories, he's still the main character.
I was surprised to read about Kang's death in D.A., but now I think it was a nice idea, because nobody expected it.
I wish he could have a more important rule in Deception (he just fuck around as a zombie?), but I bet he'll get a very important one in Armageddon.
And then, consider this: the only time that Kang was not available (D.A.), Earth warriors lost it's not a coincidence, is it?

P.S. if Liu Kang is such a disturbing character for you, what should I say about Stryker, Mokap or Jax?
