Every now and then you see art by John Tobais of early sketches and desighns of what might of been. I'm also looking for that pic of Ed and John holding those models of Motaro and Sheva. As well as that pic of Goski holding that Rainden figure. If anyone knows what I'm talking about winkplease post thease pics. Thanks.

I myself would like to see some classic concept are as well.

I've seen a lot of it, but I know there is some that hasn't been touched upon.

You may or may not know this site, but a good place for MK concept art is here at the Annals of Mortal Kombat.

http://www.angelfire.com/sd/scaifsal/mk/kombat.html

It's done in alphabetical order, and really rare drawings can be found like "Sandman" (early Kabal with hand held buzz saws) and a lot of other interesting stuff. When you look at some of it, it would have been very cool to see them make it into the games.

I haven't checked it out yet, but thank you.

If it has the things I'm looking for and remember, but have lost because the magazines I have are gone, then thank you very very much.

Thing's like that rare Shang Tsung in his true form picture intrigued me while I was younger and seeing it again was great and not only that, but I love the concept art for some of these things because it is great to see how things evolved and what also could have been cool.

Kudo's to you red_dragon.

And I just realized that this was a site that I was looking for a VERY long time because I lost it in my transition from Webtv to PC.

Thank you very much!

About Me

"Is it so important that you win one last argument with him?" "No, it is not, but it is true that I will miss the arguments; they were, finally, all that we had."

...Is that a tigerman I see among the hidden fighter concept art? *checks again* Yup, definitely a tigerman. Damn, that guy would've been sweet to use in either MK1 or MK2. I hope they bring him back in a future MK game...most likely not in Deception, but perhaps the next game after that...

Wonder what his storyline and special moves/fatalities would be...

yes, and that was one piece of concept art I was looking for...

In one of the EGM MKII magazines, they had him in it and I think they mentioned that was supposed to be Kintaro, but found it unfeasable to do or something.

I like the really early MK 1 art that I seen (Cage as Michael Grimm and early thoughts on what the sub-boss might look like. There's not nearly enough emphasis on the sub-boss anymore, and if there is, they don't need to be just a beast without much of a mind. Look at Goro, he was Prince of the Shokans.)and I also like the Kabal "Sandman" early concept. The cyber ninjas metamorphisis is also cool to look at.
