Ok ,
Now i'll explain.
Picture in UR mind that its the time after MK trilogy came out.
Now U think of the next MK
Forget completly about the existing MK 4
Now Make UR Roster (only with characters that are known before MK:DA not including it)
Then write some gameplay ideas, the look of the game , modes that u expected etc..
I'll post mine latergrin

... I can't imagine another 4, but if you insist...
My intentions for it prior its release was higher than I received. Even at the time, the overall completion of the game didn't fulfill my bloodlust.
Another version in 2-D is a welcome idea, by me at least. That would mean better sprites and animations available, something which I desperately need! It would be hard to create new gameplay modes that haven't already been developed, so Test Your Might would somehow fit it perfectly. wink

I can imagine a game with tons of characters, like MKT, only with better quality graphics, better balancing, and maybe a few more characters. But, honestly, I'd rather have a game with fewer characters then MKT had. But, make the characters more well rounded.

I would want characters with more uniqueness in the little things, like tweaking how they fly off of moves, change their speed in movements. I would like to include a character that is faster thn the others, like Noob Saibot, but then limit his specials and make him more a hand to hand character. I would like modes for different characters, where you can transform and change up your move set a bit. I would like to make heavier use of the run bar as well. Include a combo breaking system that used the run bar, and maybe even a some air recovery or something. I would really like the run bar to become a movement bar.

If you turtle, as you sit there not moving the bar begins to empty a bit. If you keep your character moving and attacking the bar fills faster after use and stays topped off between uses. Something like that.

Am I the only that likes Mortal Kombat 4? Too bad that MK Gold was only released in Dreamcast.

Well, but your idea is good. After MK trilogy with 37 characters it was a little disapointing to see that only 15 characters was on MK4.

I remember that in MK Trilogy, Mileena and Noob Saibot ending already mentioned Shinnok as the next menace.

The fighting system could be as UMK3. Weapons are welcome, but with less damage.

My characters would be:
- Earthrealm: Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Sub-Zero (young).
- Outworld: Mileena, Baraka, Reptile, Ermac
- Edenia: Sindel, Kitana, Jade, Rain
- Netherealm: Shinnok (more powerfull), Quan Chi, Sareena, Kia, Jataaka, Reiko, Noob Saibot and Scorpion.
- Gods: Raiden, Fujin, Fire God, Water God

I would do the idea of where if you turtle you have less of a runbar( I know that was mentioned already but it is a good idea) and take the system of UMK3 and add weapons to it through a button combination. I would also have actual sidestepping because I felt that MK4 just had a cheap sidestepping thing. Of course everyone would have different costumes. Everyone would also have 2 fatalities and a friendship(Friendships would look funnier in 3-D). Everyone would also have 3 costumes.
Here are the characters-
Old(15)-
Baraka
Kung Lao
Kitana
Raiden
Liu Kang
Reptile
Jax
Johnny Cage
Scorpion
Sub-Zero
Sonya
Mileena
Scorpion
Sindel
Jade
New(7)-
Jarek(Make him a lot different)
Fujin
Quan Chi
Sareena
Jataaka
Kia
Reiko
Sub-Boss-
Belokk(was planned for MK:G but was removed from it)
Boss-
Shinnok(Much more powerful
Secret Characters(5)-
Noob Saibot
Rain
Kabal
Nightwolf
Secret Bosses(2)-
Goro
Khameleon/Chameleon(tag team)

I would definitely make use of the weapon system we got in the real MK4. That could be another way to really differentiate the characters. Similar to Dreemer's Noob Saibot concept... you could have a guy who is pretty lacking in special moves, but has a real kick-ass weapon to make up for it. And just the idea of disarming someone, then using their own weapon against them - it's a great concept, probably the best thing that MK4 brought to the table in my opinion. Maybe they could make it a little harder to disarm the opponent though, dropping it after one hit always seemed harsh. And the weapon throw has to stay in; that was awesome how you could get a few slices in and then just be like "F-it!!" and throw the sword at the guy. And if anyone doesn't like the weapons, I'm sure there could be a simple Kombat Kode to disable them.

Oh and Dreemer's thoughts on the "little things" are great. I always thought it would be cool if characters took damage differently. Like picture Kabal in MK3... he always had the overpowered moves, but if he took damage like a bitch that might have balanced him out more. They shouldn't go overboard and do like boss damage, but if a hulking bohemoth takes a little less damage than a kitana or Sonya, that could be interesting.

i agree with goroliath ... they need to make another 2D MK game since those are the best MK games anyways ;)

MK4 sucked! it's the worst MK game to date overall. ... it's still alright since it's a MK game but it's definately by far my worst MK game... it's like it's sorta 3D but it's half assed... personally i liked the graphics better in the MK3/UMK3 better than MK4's graphics. but im the type of guy who likes the 2D MK games quite a bit better overall than the new 3D MK games. nothing will ever beat the old school 2D MK games (MK1 - MK2 - MK3 - UMK3) as far as im conserned... and i mean NOTHING! :)
