Created this thread here since it covers both MK:DA and MK:D Endings.
Well, you'd all know that from MK:DA, portrait Endings with narration debuted, spoken by Raiden for MK:DA (excluding Mokap's Ending) and Shujinko for MK:D (with the exception of Raiden's Ending).
A good few of these Endings contain "eggs" or aspects worth speculation, hidden or intentionally placed for easy-spotting in the portraits.
What I've basically done is scanned through them all and listed the features of the ones worth mentioning, and remember, most of them were obvious to begin with. I was aiming for a relatively comprehensive guide so I couldn't leave those ones out in avoidance of stating-the-obvious. So, here we go.
Blaze's Ending, MK:DA. The dominant feature of this Ending (Blaze's quest) is finally covered by MK:A, but there's something else to this Ending. The background to the second frame is the surrounding buildings of the Drum Arena, only seemingly on fire. Blaze, walking away from the burning buildings, I'm assuming is the cause of it. Perhaps destroying the realms or burning things is a part of his quest, I guess we'll know for sure come MK:A. The arena image of the Drum Arena itself is below for comparison.

Bo' Rai Cho's Ending, MK:D. Liu Kang can once again be seen in the sky, similar to Kung Lao's two Endings detailed further down.

Kano's Ending, MK:DA. The background to the second frame is the Sarna Ruins from a different perspective, also the setting for Goro's Bio in MK:D (shown below).

Kung Lao's Ending, MK:DA. Liu Kang's face can be seen in the sky, similar to his Ending for MKII (below) which features the Great Kung Lao and Bo' Rai Cho's Ending (above).

Li Mei's Ending, MK:DA. Her eyes can be seen on either side of the soldier, I didn't notice them myself the first time around, honestly. Worth a mention.

Liu Kang's Ending, MK:D. Like Raiden's Ending featured later on, this one caused a lot of speculation. From what I've read around here, the majority recognizes the figure freeing Liu Kang as Raiden, though theories that it is Kung Lao or Havik are also believed.

Mavado's Ending, MK:DA. Sub-Zero's figure can be seen behind Mavado as he contemplates his new target.

Mokap's Ending, MK:DA. Kano's clipboard reads, "Kill Vogel".

Nitara's Ending, MK:DA. In the background of the first portrait you can see through the dragon egg's shell to the figure incubated within.

Raiden's Ending, MK:DA. I'm sure everyone knows of the alternate appearance of Onaga featured in the sky here. Caused a good amount of speculation, this one.

Shang Tsung's Ending, MK:DA. This one's purely speculation. Check the soldier on the right, distracted by something off-screen. Given that these Endings inter-twine with the beginning of MK:D, I'm assuming he's watching Onaga approaching the palace if things took a different spin (this isn't so doubtful since it's obvious Midway had plans for a "Dragon King" during the production of MK:DA).

Shao Kahn's Ending, MK:D. As much as this portrait kicks ass, there's what seems to be a portal up high above the arena. Perhaps it's Onaga's personal transport or something... not too sure about this one.

Sindel's Ending, MK:D. The final frame leaves view to what remains of Reptile once Onaga's soul attempts to return to his original body, and his appearance hints at the return of his human form. This seems to be disregarded by what we know of MK:A so far, though.

And that's about it, thanks for reading.

Hmmm, I'd never seen Li Mei's eyes in her MKDA ending before, kinda creepy looking.
As for seeing the dragon inside the egg in nitara's, I thought it can be seen moving around inside the egg during fights in the Lava Shrine?
Interesting about the dead guard looking away in Shang's ending, never seen that before.
As for the 'portal' in Shao Kahn's, if you're talking about above the amulet-like shape, it's the MK dragon symbol - though I may be missing what you're pointing out.
Good stuff though, interesting thread.

Now that you mention it, I think you could... haven't played MK:DA in a while.

The Amulet-looking shape is the thing I'm referring to, it's similar to the portal Quan Chi discovered in the Netherrealm which led to the Lost Tomb and apparently the general appearance of portals for recent titles (I guess it relates to the fact that the Amulet grants access to them).

Ah yes, the portals that can only be opened by the amulet (I think). Seems there's many types of portals now; the original MK2/3 style, the amulet ones, the kind in MKDA's portal stage, the nexus versions, MKMSZ ones. Tons.
Speaking of the amulet portals, something always struck me in MKDA's intro.
When Quan Chi is running out of the Netherrealm and jumps into the portal and ends up in the Lost Tomb, if you watch closely, the portal changes to the Lost Tomb at the last moment. Before he would've ended up in Shao Kahn's throne room:

Obviously the intro is scripted, so it doesn't mean anything, but I always thought it was cool.
Maybe you should go through the intro's and look for abnormalities like you have done with these endings, there may be stuff to find, maybe not, but it would be cool of there were.

Funny you should mention that, I was going to mention it in the other reply! How weird's that? I've never understood why it shows Shao Kahn's Fortress for a split-second, perhaps if Quan Chi ended up there he would've allianced with Shao Kahn or something (or his clone, rather). Really weird. Good idea about scanning the opening sequences, I might get around to doing that.
