Yeah Konqrr, in any arcade/arcade perfect translated game, flailing backwards after an attack like the fan, the teleport punch, Nightwolf's arrow, Shang's fireballs, etc, allows you to block, unless you are in air, other wise, it's impossible to get hit with 3 Shang Tsung fireballs, or get harpooned after a teleport punch. You'll notice high level UMK3 you'll never see a harpoon done after a connected ground teleport punch, or a telekinetic lift just because it's blockable and punishable even though you are in frames you aren't controlling, just like getting up frames. DreemerNJ and I just had a little debate on Total Mortal Kombat forums about why Nightwolf's arrow is fast, and one of the mods thought it was merely because the character is all the way on the other side of the screen, but in actuality it's because of the character being in non neutral frames, and coincidentally it takes Nightwolf the exact amount of time to recover from the first arrow and still be able to get a fast one. But no matter how insignificant, even the bobble of the upper torso in block counts as a duration of time to cancel to a fast arrow, or getting up, even though you can still block. Just a lot of funky properties, but they make sense. Coincidentally, and I don't know it this applies to MKG, but Sektor's smart missiles are rendered useless in UMK3 as well, if you run in and combo him, as long as Sektor is in frames he does not control, the missiles will hit you and explode doing no damage, easiest with something like a 3 hit kick combo, or an anti air jump kick.

After seeing those vids, wow MK4 is FUCKED up. What is the limit on Kitana's fan? Cause she was just dealing them like playing cards. I really dislike MK4 and I've never played Gold. Also, I didn't hear any sound.

I must say, I never thought mk4 golds graphics are this good, wow, and the gameplay is very fast, that is what mk6 really needs.
And how about kitanas fan wave, that is so super genetic. At any rate, the audi was missing, and ive only watched the first one. Ill watch the rest later. 5 out of 5 start conqrr.

Kitana - HP, HK, D+HP, Fan until Max Damage
Kung Lao - Same
Sektor - Smart Missiles are unlimited, no 2 limit like UMK3. Plus he recovers extremely fast from them.

i LOL'd when the second vid popped up and i saw sektor. too easy. should of turned off maximum damage though. i thought your brother was going to hurt himself with all those jumpkicks. maybe even have a stroke lol. i can tell your rusty though. you should of been able to finish each round in 8 seconds! what's with the aggressive defense?! it's mk gold and all he was doing is jumping!!

Is the gameplay actually faster? I thought it looked pretty similar to MK4. As for the graphics, the chars just look so thin, light, and nonexistant. Soul Blade's characters looked better. They didn't have the poly count but they had the skilled creation and well captured moves. And what the hell is with all the reused motion capture for the MKG exclusive chars? Damn, did they just ask some programming intern to make this over a weekend or something?

Well I've played MK4, and the gameplay might be a little faster, but I really don't know, the game isn't really 3D, it's a 2D engine in a 3D environment, it's less 3D than Doom, the graphics for the characters in MK4, are terrible. The characters break apart, and are just so low detail, even for the time it came out, even MKDA's graphics weren't up to the highest level they could have been when the game was released, but I think they sacrificed that for speed. MK2's motion capture characters are 356 trillion times better looking that MK4's characters.

i agree kung broken.

mk4 arcade looks damn good i think. the characters are thicker than mk gold's and have real shadows, not stick figures. and the choppiness of glitches isn't as apparent. mk home ports have always sucked compared to the arcade games. mkda was good i thought. but you can tell they were trying too hard to balance the game between all three systems. because if they went to town on all three like they're doing with mk6, the graphics would of looked 10x better.
