A game I haven't played in sometime now. I got stuck in the Prison of Souls level. Although I was able to find the keys #1 and 2, I couldn't find the elevator key to move to the second floor???

um, if you have the second key you can move to the second floor, the big skull dude has the third key

I was never been able to operate any of the elevators. I got to the second floor by accident.
I either jumped along side of them slamming hammers, and by hitting the side of it, it would propel me backwards towards the second floor, or at the end of the first floor, right before that big final jump, there's a guard, and once you'd disarm him he can throw you at times an uppercut, and the same propel backwards motion would be just enough to hang on to the edge of the second floor.
I need, I believe is an elevator key to get the first key working.

I know I'm missing something to operate the elevators because there's I believe a darken light sign "G" and "1", and on the second elevator of same first floor there's the darken "G", "1", and "2" darken light posts. And those lit up when you acquire these icons, and that first basic light post ("G") always remains dark.

theres no g key, theres only a 1, 2 and 3 key, g is where you start off at

If there's no "G" key then why is there a darken "G" light post on both of the elevators on the ground floor?
And secondly, exactly how does someone operate the elevator with just key "1" for a N64 version?
To me, it appears that something is missing knowing that the other darken posts light up when I acquire the keys "1" and "2."

well i dont know, once you get the key they light up, but i just found out, once you get the key, the thing will light up, then hold the "use" button then hit high kick to go up and low punch to go down, and yes the g stands for ground because after you get out of that holding cell its all on the ground level

the g means ground..1 means level 1, 2 means level 2, ect. you can use the ground elevator by default..it just means that youre at ground level.
hold the action button, (the button used to grab items such as herbs, urns, etc.) and press hk to go up, and lp to go down.
the dark color of the g (and the numbers) means you are on that particular level. when you go up to level 1, the g lights up and the 1 darkens. see what im saying?
if you still have trouble with it and cant get past it, use this password to go to the next level: "ZVRKDM" if you need any more help, pm me. mkm is my second fav mk game, i know everything about it.

OK, that one extra detail makes sense. By the way, I'm not the first that got stuck at this particular area.
You see I always rented the game, and it never came with detail written instructions, but had the fighting move codes builted into the game.
Thanks for the advice, Scorpio and Noob Sareena!
