Mk trilogy problem

Sorry for starting a thread about a topic that already exists, but since some of the links in the MKT are broken, i need some help.

I have WINXP, and i get an error message
the moment i choose a character in MKT
(i can start the game and browse in the menu just fine)

Does anyone know what must i do to get the game to work?

Don't take this for fact cause I don't have it, but I understand there is a patch for XP. I will look for a link. Have you installed any patches?

Here is a link, again I can't test and see if it works. Can I ask, did you have Trilogy before and just upgraded your PC, or have you recently bought it?

Well, I bought MKT ages ago, back when it was brand new i think.
It worked fine on my old computer, but it hasn't worked since i changed my pc.

I found only one patch for XP, but it's supposed to fix a problem that occurs during the installation, and i don't have any problems during the installation :/
