MK1 on Midway's Classics

I heard that the new Mortal Kombat original game that comes with the Kelloctor's Edition is "arcade perfect." I have a question though.

Was Reptile hidden in the Arcade or was that the home systems only? A.K.A. will he be in the new one coming out?

It'll be interesting to see what version of MK1 they will put in with Deception because in the last two versions you couldn't fight Reptile. It'd be a moral waste to disinclude him.

That's cool. I didn't know he was ever in the Arcade version. I wonder why they wouldn't include him in the last two versions? What did the last two versions include new to the game? I hope it doesn't end up being a toss up over which to put in. I'd like to have secrets like Reptile, even at the cost of whatever was new.

Also, just out of curiosity, how many versions were there? And I take it Reptile was in the very first? I assumed he had been an addition in later versions. Thanks for your help!

What do you mean you cant fight reptile in the last 2 versions????

You can fight reptile in REV 5.0

I don't think he was every like a real character to start with in MK1. I don't think it said his name in the energy bar, and he didn't really have any story. They just stuck him in as a an extra pallet with the name 'Reptile' for when he wins.

Well does anybody know what each version added / took away?

Also, I was wondering if anyone had any information on MK2 and / or MK3 of that Classic game coming out. Are they going to be "Arcade perfect," too? I think I might be more excited about these games than the new one. Pretty close, anyways wink

Y Unit 3 and 4, there is a T unit 4 and 5 which he is not in. It says Scorpion in the energy bar, but Reptile Wins when he wins.

Using mame I have fought reptile on rev 5.0

It took a very long time to get a shadow to cross the moon but it did eventually happen.

I can probably come up with a screencap if you want proof (or the mame save state)

Even though the shadows come up around 40 matches vs the CPU, you still cannot fight Reptile, I wasn't sure of this myself, but a very long time ago I tried it and did the Reptile method, and poof, nothing.

it works for me I even have a save state from mame .58 that will load right after the reptile battle is triggered. (you have found me)
I have fought reptile in 5.0 with several different fighters. Perhaps you hit block by accident or something???

Yes in the 5.0 version I have fought Reptile several times to he is there. It's the earlier MK versions where you couldn't fight Reptile.

Reptile is in both T-Unit revisions.


Not counting test versions that never made it out of Chicago there's.......

Proto, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, T-Unit 4.0, T-Unit 5.0


Most updates were just for bug fixes. The big change was when Reptile was added in 3.0.

Hey, does anyone know if the MK2 and MK3 on the Arcade Treasures are going to be "Arcade Perfect"? Also, is there any arcade-like joystick w/buttons for the XBOX to recreate the arcade feeling? Thanks anyone for their help!!
