The Sega version looks like crap. That's the main difference.

Then why does he want the crap one?

Maybe he wants to compare it to see how bad it really his.
Or maybe he has it, and the pit bottom has some gaphical error and he wants to see if it's supposed to be like that or he has a messed up version.
Or maybe it pleases him...
