MK2-Mk trilogy

First off thanks to anyone who has helped me in my other posts. Much appreciated.
Now for the questions . . .>
In MK2, is there any way to play as Noob Saibot, Smoke, or Jade on either the console systems or arcades or (beta versions i guess). I hear they are if you do some ridiculous stuff but ya never know, and I don't have any systems that have that game other than the PS2 and XBOX versions of Midway Games but they are only the arcade versions.
Second, In MK3 and Ultimate and Trilogy. Do any of the character stories have any truth or are they even remotely related to the MK universe in terms of continuity? Cuz Johnny Cage keeps dying and the coming back, but then dies and well whatever he dies and magiclly comes back to life but then it's said he was never dead. So in trilogy for his profile was this a lie or just laziness on midways part? A couple other profiles and endings contridict in the next slew of games as well. Sub-Zero i think, Mileena, and Kano.

First question. No, there is no way in any MK2 (not counting possibly emulation versions) to play as Jade, Smoke or Noob.
Second question. One, not every ending comes true, but the general storylines of UMK3/MKT are canon. Two, yes, Midway do have an annoying habit of retconning characters storylines. In MKDA, Vogel stated that Johnny Cage's death never happened, and has never said what Johnny WAS doing during that time. Mileena's endings were changed from UMK3/MKT to build up to MK4, and Shinnoks "big" arrival. Some endings are simply "what if" situations, which tell what MIGHT happen if that character were to win. The "Classic" Sub Zero in UMK3/MKT (who isn't the same one who became Noob) is completely non canon, an extra excuse to use the male ninja sprite. Hope this helps.
