I always liked the change in MK3. I was tired of fighting games that kept so many of the same characters from one game to the next. Plus, the new characters were fun to play as. Nightwolf kicked ass. Kabal was top tier, up through MKT really. Sindel is awesome, and in Ultimate remains the best female character. Sektor was ehh, cyrax was fun but not all that powerful, Sheeva, well, she sucked, but overall I liked the change.

Ultimate of course is better, Stryker was made a lot more powerful (unmasked sub was made much weaker) but overall the new characters in MK3 rocked.
