Where did MK3 take place? I mean, a lot of the stages are like cities and what not, so where was this city?...

Context clues would suggest that Mk3 took place in Chicago....those who spent their night and days in the Kyrpt would have seen some MK3 concept art that was based on an area in Chicago...

But...

According to The Fighter's Generation, Stryker is an "LA cop with a bad attitude." But then again, Frankie also thought that Ermac ran with the Lin Kuei...xD

That's actually a good question. I always assumed it was LA cause of Stryker.

Anyone who knows for sure? I'm curious now.

I always thought it took place in Chicago. I mean the backgrounds look more like Chicago to me than LA.

It never says. It just says it's in North America.

Neither Stryker's in game bio or his ending refer to it as LA.

"The Bridge" is based on Wacker drive, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's Chicago.


Nightwolf and Stryker's stories mention that the Earth Warrior's are hiding out to the west. Judging by the wording of Stryker's ending it seems to be quite a long trip too. I think what they're implying is that the city is Chicago and Nightwolf's land being to the west means something like Arizona, New Mexico or Neveda.

But who knows? It could be a fictional city.
