Mk: gold. For the simple fact that I'm better with a Dpad then a stick. Also it ran a little smother.

But do you think that graphically MKG use more or less polygons than MK4 arcade.. Or all in all, graphically which one is better?

As far as I remember, MK Gold used the same polygon count
but as far as MK games go, it can't have any better graphics than the arcade cuz the arcade version = the true version. And who said people thought MK4 sucks and that MKDA was better? MK5 blows compared to MK4 or any other classic MK game. MKGold is fundamentally different by adding stuff so in my book, MK4 is better.

My next question is: Which is the closest console or PC port to MK4 arcade in graphic and gameplay? By the way, is the arcade MK4 emulated on any emulator like MAME or other?

actually mk gold does have better graphics than the arcade. one tid bit is that raiden's hat in the arcade is not perfectly round, where as in gold it is smooth and fully circular. many other graphics they smoothed out, and the polygon count per charecter is double that of the arcade. look it up. play both. you'll see. these are facts. the reason being is that was midway's first look at how their mk games could look so much better on home consoles, and play better, hence the move to only console in deadly alliance.

besides the same exact people who did arcade mk4 did mk gold, so how can it not be a true version? what they did umk3. same difference, just gold didn't hit the arcades.

it ISNT MK4. Mk4 is the one they put in arcades.
MKGold is just a sidegame like Mortal Kombat Trilogy..made just to have fun with the characters and stuff.

MK Gold isn't a sidegame. Such as Cyrax's ending (spoiler ahead), he is saved by Sonya and Jax and gains his mind back. Then in MK:DA he is part of the special forces. Some of the endings didn't happen though but that's the same in every MK game, some happen and others don't.

not really.......it's more along the lines of umk3. just because it wasn't put in an arcade machine and doesn't have insert coin, means nothing. mk gold does have better graphics, much higher polygon count than in mk4 arcade. read about it, look it up. it's facts. so why not just make a stand up arcade unit, get an x arcade stick that supports dreamcast, and there ya go. now it's an arcade machine. just because if you build a machine and throw it in there, doesn't mean that if midway were to do it, it would be anymore special.

I'm not going to go through all that trouble
and if I were to get an arcade stick I'd make it myself :)

no one was saying that. dude asked if graphics were better. just gave him the facts is all. mk3 isn't ultimate mk3, and mk4 isn't mk gold. everyone knows that. but what would you rather play, mk3? or umk3?

Ummm I donno. Sometimes both, majority of the time UMK3 I think, but that was a true game. I would rather play MK3 or UMK3 over MKT though

i definately agree with you on that one. i'd rather play mk3 or umk3 anyday over mkt. it's a decent game, it just feels sloppy to me.

the graphics are way better in MK Gold than the arcade version,the endings of the extra characters in MK gold such as Baraka ,Mileena ,Cyrax doesn't count in the original storyline....and the combos are equal to the arcade version without any enchancements at all.

MK Gold is very fun to play and you can make tons of glitches by executing Sektor's homing missile attack just when you perform the "one button fatality"....
