It's come to my attention that the new Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is little more than a festering shitpile... once again, Mortal Kombat fans have been disappointed by an inferior product...

I'm boycotting this. Why?

1) They originally announced the HD Kollection... which from what we've all seen from screenshots and footage, was going to be FUCKING UNBELIEVEABLE... but instead they threw it in the "too hard" basket, and decided to rehash 3 old games that 90% of the Mortal Kombat fan kommunity ALREADY HAVE in some form or another...

2) Said rehash is claimed to be "Arcade Perfect"... and from what I've heard from MANY people on several forums, this claim could not be any more inaccurate. Sound issues, games not being correctly paced, bugs with characters, Kombat Kodes no longer working, Online play totally unplayable...

3) NRS and WB claimed the release date for the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection was August 30, 2011 for the US and August 31, 2011 for the rest of the world... well, it's now September 3, 2011 and Australia STILL doesn't have it for PS3... I'm sick of hearing excuses, I'm sick of people thinking they can do whatever they want. When I'm given a release date, I expect it to be released on said date. Also, the release date is decided between NRS, their published WB, Sony, Microsoft and any other involved parties... safe to say the End-User/Consumers are not the ONLY ones pissed about this... whoever is responsible for the delay could find themselves in a legal problem now for violation of trade embargo for not getting it on the contracted date...

WHERE THE FUCK IS THE GAME WE WERE PROMISED!?!?!?!?

Not only is it non-exist outside of the United States, but even in the United States it is NOT the product it was claimed to be...

I'm sick of being lied to and being fed inferior shit when we're promised something great. No one is getting my money for this pile of shit until I get some answers... and at the moment, it looks like no-one responsible has the fucking front to stand up and explain what the fuck is going on...

You can view them on the blog site of one of artists from the game, John Montenegro, or on the GiantBomb page for the game.

Interesting, never seen that before. Definitely looks good.

Although the pic of the dragon fatality looks like a composite to me. Jax's legs are very low res compared to the rest.

I'm not only boycotting this, I am demanding my money back. This game is rubbish.
1. Online is unplayable. Period. If you pay for a product, you should get something that actually functions to the degree it was meant to function. They claim you can play the game online. The game, as it is presented offline, is not nearly the same game online. It's pathetic. And I love the classics as much as the next guy, I really do. But I am not going to sit around and play a game online where response time isn't anywhere near what is desired. My time is more valuable than that.
2. Multiple sound and graphical glitches I have found.
3. Some users are now stating they notice a definite difference in gameplay speed offline compared to arcade originals. "Arcade perfect" it is not, and should not be labeled so.

I can only assume they rushed this product (!!! That never happens!!!) out in order to grab some quick cash from diehard MK fans. I'm sick of supporting that. And the sad thing is, it gets me every time.

Ten bucks is ten bucks, but this time I am going to ask for it back. This game is horrible and should not have been put on the market in this state.

Skaven, i'm with you there buddy.

When you change even sound effects for whatever reason, it is no longer arcade perfect. The game doesn't play even close to where the arcade game played. When sound effects cut off, game freezes up, yeah, everyone has their right to bitch about something that was stated perfect and doesn't come out as such. And where is that god damn patch? How much do you wanna bet it never gets released. Oh well, I'm glad I got it, but its not what I thought I was getting, and thats just sad.

Im not aware of other countries' laws in regards to false advertising but in Australia:

"if a product is advertised or represented as being a particular way and/or having a particular function and said product is NOT as advertised and/or represented OR lacking particular function as represented, the consumer is legally entitled to remedy in form of either exchange, repair or refund."

It hasn't been released in Australia though... oh the irony.

Anyone in Australia who has a US PSN account (such as myself) and has purchased it online did so at their own risk as they are in violation of Sony's Terms & Conditions... so any attempt to secure a refund will most likely result in a countersuit from Sony for breach of Terms & Conditions...

Such is one of the huge drawbacks of the push for disc-less consoles and downloaded games... if the game is of inferior quality, how do you get a refund? There's no physical product that you can return... is Sony just going to start issuing credit card refunds? That's a WHOLE new can of worms right there...
