Yeah, that's Liu's red bike kick - an MKT exclusive.

To do it, charge up the bike kick, then you press Back, Forward, then release LK.

Supposedly it goes further across the screen than the regular bike kick, but does less damage.
If you look at some of the other screenshots from that link, you will see Johnny Cage doing a red shadow kick. I think he has a red uppercut as well, and Nightwolf has a red shoulder charge.

Just thinking about it, I'm surprised they didn't give a 'red' move to Shao Kahn or Jade...

I've never seen JC use a Red Uppercut before, but NW does have a red Shoulder Charge.

Is it absolutely confirmed that it has different properties than the regular Bicycle Kick?

You're right, Cage doesn't have a red uppercut, dunno why I thought he might.



I wasn't sure, I was just going by this thread I made a long time ago.

I just checked out MKT though and did a regualr bike kick + 7 hit auto combo in the corner, and then repeated it with the red bike kick.

Regular + 7 hit auto combo = 8 hits - 41%
Red = 8 hits - 38%
(and in MK3 = 8 hits - 48%)

So there you have it, oh and the red bike kick seemed faster as well.

Faster, yet less damage dealing. That sounds like a fair balance. At least it's not faster AND more punishing, otherwise that would entirely negate the use of the regular bike kick.
