There is an updated version of the EXE for the program available online to get it running in Win2K and WinXP. I have it in Win2K and it runs great.

I've had the same problems, and i've tried both of them fix's and neither seems to work :(

Anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Or if there are any other work arounds?

I've tried running it with sound/CD audio, I don't use a gamepad, MKT was installed on a fresh install of Win XP, I use two separate installs to test the different patch's.

you tryied the botch patches and the both didnt work for ya?

You must also right click mktrilw.exe and set the compatibility to windows 2000 and change your screen resolution to 16 bit color instead of 32.

Sorry to bring this somewhat old topic to life.

But a workaround that i found was:
Burn the game into a CD-Rom, "Audio and Data" mode. The game works, but withoud any music.

you could try turning off a few things like

Shang Tsungs Morph--off
Buy In Scrren--off
Select Screen--Fast
Timer--off

Find These Things In The Options

Well, I have a MK Trilogy instaler, and it works fine. This program is easy to use, allows the use of joystick, bring a better screen resolution with small screen.

Ok, this is strange. I tried using the patch from shortfilms.tk again. And now it seems to be working. I don't think i've changed anything else on my PC so i'm a bit confused. The only thing is even with this patch, sometimes some of the sound effects cut out occasionally, or seem to have a slight delay.

But at least its working :)
