A long time ago I came across some site that had a huge, elaborate explaination of the MKM backstory. Does anyone know where I can find any site with the story?

I think you're talking about Mortal Kombat Bible.
It once was "http://www.mortalkombatbible.com" but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

I also remember a different site from way back when that might have been it. But I have no idea.
