MK2 Sub Zero? You mean SZ in MKII or the classic SZ in UMK3? I thought I would clear it up for anyone else that knows the answers as I don't.

SZ in MK2 and regular SZ in UMK3. Classic SZ combos would be appreciated too

For unmasked Sub Zero in UMK3 combos are unfortunately limited. Damage protection kicks in horribly for him.

He has an autocombo that goes like this:
hp, hp, lp, lk, hk, b+hk but you should leave out the LP and just do:
hp. hp, lk, hk, b+hk because it actually does more damage. If you are aggressive enough you can try to do quicker combos that don't knock your opponent back like hp, hp, b+hk but you have to know how to capitalize on the combo ending with the opponent nearby.

For Classic Sub Zero in UMK3, the combos are a little better but not a whole lot. He has the popup that leads to some nice juggles as well as a couple of low damage autocombos like
hp, hp, b+lk, b+hk, f+hk but you might as well always try the popup to juggle because the damage protection is so bad for his autocombos as well.
Classic Sub also has the infinite of popup, jump forward, get the air punch starter to popup where the first hit connects before they touch the ground. Its an unblockable inf that works on a lot of characters but the difficulty level is pretty high.

Yo, if this is for the tourney, i never committed Vers, I said i would try to make it. Unfortunatly I will be unable to attend tonight as had originally anticipated. Sorry guys, catch ya next time. appearently there isnt going to be a tournament..its supposed to be at 4:00 today..about 15 min from now and versatile is nowhere to be found.

OK guys..for all of you who signed up for the tournament lets hear a time thats good for you, then I can format a date and time for this baby. Don't get it twisted...this tournament WILL happen, but just not today.

Just moving this from the other thread, this is when I'm on mostly. I am always up to playing, tournament or not. The best time for me to play in the tournament this week would be Monday or Thursday night ANY TIME because I have those nights off work, but just about any morning would suffice as I work the night shift.

For anyone who plays MK (or any game) online here, post what time you are usually on and what game you play the most online. It'd be great to actually know when I can play someone instead of logging on and searching for MK comp for an hour.

- I mostly like to play MK2 online with ZSNES, but I play with MAME as well.
- I will play any MK game.
- I am online mostly during the morning anytime between 7AM and 2PM Mountain Time. But am seen on sometimes around 7PM to 10PM.
- I go by Konqrr EVERYWHERE, I don't like using different screen names on different programs, so if you see me, play me!!

Let's also post the results of our online meetings, last time I played was against Versatile and ReptileStyle. We played MK2 and UMK3 on ZSNES. Then vs a guy named Ray on zBattle. I won most of the matches and had a great time. Ray and I played 99% random select, something you can't do on MAME as you will be out of synch real quick.

As for Sub-Zero combos:

MK2 Sub - He is really all about setups and mixups...now you're thinking, mixups? in MK2?! Yes. If you freeze them on the ground, go for a deep jump kick or Deep TAK (Turn Around Kick) into the ground freeze (doesn't work facing the corner). From there you can do an uppercut to finish off the punishment and push for a slide which is sometimes hard to block online due to lag issues or do a roundhouse followed by a jump kick. If you freeze them in air, I always do a jump kick or straight up jump kick if I'm right next to them then mixup a ground freeze or a regular freeze as in this situation a ground freeze is not guaranteed if they know how to quick recover by tapping down as they hit the ground then jump back/forward, if you think they will jump forward, then uppercut.

UMK3 Sub - I'll be brief cuz I'm outta time, after any dial-a-combo that knocks them away, do his close air ice ball (d,f,b,hp) to stop them from rushing you. Unfortunately they toned him down REALLY BAD from MK3...

Played Versatile some in the last couple days. The first day he owned me pretty bad at UMK3, I couldn't win for the life of me but I came back the next day to even the score...I think his dialup connection lagged my computer or the SNES version of UMK3 just plain sux. Per usual I lived up to my name in MK2. It was great fun playing MK and Mario Kart with you Vers...let's do it again soon and get that tourney set up! We'll use zBattle as the hosting grounds coupled with AIM so we can move things along smoothly.

Seriously, it needs to be decided who will show and who plays who BEFORE the tourney even starts. Then whoever don't show gets dropped from there.

I will do the brackets, double elim. If both players have MAME, they can decide to play their match there instead of ZSNES.
