Hmmm...just to reply I put on a local tourny for Soul Calibur II and got a decent out-of-town showing (the number of ppl from out-of-town equaled the number of locals)...of course there were still only about 12 ppl !!!

Anyways, to stay on topic I would be interested in attending if it is close to the state I live in...which is North Carolina...so where is Video Game World??? I think I read somewhere that you lived in Virginia Versatile if that is where the tourny is being held then it is possible for me to show up (possible...I'm not saying yes or no 100% right now). If it was Nov 6th however I can give you a definate no...I need at least two weeks notice to ask off from my job.

Note: I am really interested in attending b/c I am just getting into fighting games and have traveled very little to fight comp (I've only traveled 3-4 times to fight others)...and the comp here generally sux and nobody to my knowledge plays Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance seriously. But in all honesty with school and work (and a crappy car) I find it hard to make time for video games (my passion) and especially time to make road trips for them...but if the timing and turnout look good I'll try be there!!!

Hey! It would be great if you can come, but I think NJ is a bit out of your reach, no? I think that would take atleast 7 hours. If you can make it me,sst,reptile style and his friend are pretty much guarnateed to be there. Perhaps Tony can show too(i hope so). Im sure others will try to come too. If you come we'd play for atleast 3 hours or so ya know? Show you some stuff with Scorp, have some games, hold the tournament,etc. Also, if you can find a ride to willowbrook mall i'd be more than happy to play some games of SC2 and Tekken 4 with you. Also, would you guys be interested in a Super Smash Bros. Melee Tournament? 5 dollar entry fee, winner gets about 45-55% i'd assume. Who would be down for that? Also post if you'd be down for a Soul Calibur 2 Tournament(5 dollars as well) or Tekken 4(5 dollars)

Hmmm...NJ is a bit far out of reach for me. I don't want to say 'count me out' b/c something may happen...but I can definately say don't expect me. However, let me add a couple things:

On MK: DA - Yea, I've been messing around w/ Scorp and like him (as I always have), but yesterday I played around w/ Bo Rai Cho and started to like him a lot too...mostly b/c he is 1) a bigger characters (and ever since Astaroth I've started liking bigger characters) 2) he is an oddball character and I like those too and 3) he has a drunken fighter stance and I luv Jackie Chan's Drunken Master movie!!!

On Soul Calibur 2: Actually you being in NJ is more of a reason for me to come b/c NJ has some of the best SCII players on the east coast. Of course if I came I would be down for a SCII tourny. Also...yea I luv Astaroth thumbs up to you for being another Asty user!!!

Either way, every single one of you can ignore this topic. You simply look at the topic, and if it doesnt appeal to you simply don't come. I also find it very sad if you get frustrated when you come here and expect something new and find one of my tournament topics here. If that makes you want to come in here and cause ruckus i'd suggest getting out more.

And besides, I make 2 topics here and Im accused of flooding. The only reason why there is 3 topics at the classic board is because one is for joining a group of mine that plays the classic MK games competetively. The other topic was meant for a tournament entry, but it got deleted since i forgot that you cant post links to roms or emulators here. Reptile Style,SST and Tony all live less than an hour away from VGW. Two of those people have already confirmed their arrival, so don't give me that. If people are into MK enough they would show as long as the weather condition isn't fatal. Kombat Krazy, a man more than 7 hours away from here is showing a little bit of interest, what makes you think other people won't? Besides, even if they do not comeI have friends coming, and so RS said he'll bring a friend or two. That would be enough to hold a tournament.

VGW is a gaming store, a gaming store will not be closed during the winter. Common sense would tell you that games sell best during these times for two reasons. First off it's the holiday season, so many people go out to buy games for their kids/etc.Secondly people stay in more during the winter time, so they'd have more time to purchase these games and more time to spend time with them. Even if all of this weren't true(which it is), I asked VGW if they'd be open, and they said yes..done and done.

No one is stopping rekahn from showing to this tournament. If he thinks he has game, then sure..bring it. If Rekahn would like to play me in ANY of the 2D MKs i'd be game. Konqrr and ReptileStyle would both rip you apart in MK2 and UMK3, and I think i've become good enough to give you a good run for your money from playing with them. I considered him a newbie from the amount of visits he has under his name. People with a low amount of visits like that tend to not post much, making them a newbie to the site. People with low visits also tend to start trouble to make a name for themselves. And besides, I was just pissed at the guy for just being a jerk.

Ummmm...yea I am just a n00b here...but I'll post my opinion...I don't see how 'flooding the forum' w/ new tourny threads is that bad of a thing. I mean if you don't like them and nobody posts on them, then they will just eventually get pushed back onto later pages where not many people surf anyways. I mean take for instance the 'high level game play' thread. I haven't even really started looking at that thing b/c there is no organization to it whatsoever. I would luv to find out things about Bo Rai and Scorp...but I don't have the time to read through long in-depth posts just to find what I want to know...it would be more effective to have a separete character strat thread for each character and maybe it would be better to have new tourny threads then just one big long one.

Anyways all this is just my opinion...it really doesn't matter to me one way or the other...I can see both sides point of view and both have their good and bad points. I mean yea some ppl don't like threads with a common theme 'flooding the forum'...and I myself don't really like repeatedly having to see similar threads (I saw a lot of 'final secret' related threads here...and I dunno even know what that is!!!) pop up in other forums I frequent...however tourny threads are different from others as tournies are all different and once over are done with. So yea...I'm just blabbing now but just know that both sides have points.

And on Astaroth...yea PT is his number one move for me!!! Just beware...an extended PT (214AAA...) is now easily punishable on high lvl play...so I usually use setups and step PT instead of just throwing it around like I used to. I luv the big man and I wouldn't consider myself a high lvl player on national standard by any means...but I can say that I'm the one of the best locally and statewide I am decent. I do have AIM...but I'm rarely on it. And if I did play you in any of the previous MK games you would own me...I just got into the fighting games and I only played the others a couple times *remembers going to the arcade and getting owned by the random Kabal, Smoke, Cyrax user*

Yeah asta is teh own. I play him pretty simply since I don't like SC2 too much. I stick to mix up his delayed attacks and throw mix ups. Of course PT mix ups as well.

Shame you dont wanna check out the topic, lots of stuff in there that'll help you. Atleast check out pages 13-15 or something. The best scorp and bo is stuff are there IMO. Give me your aim so that when your on I can help ya out.

About the high lvl play thread...I plan on checking it out...and also MKL's closed thread...but right now w/ school and work (and a local SCII tourny coming up) I just don't have the time to sit down and start sorting through the in depth posts...I will eventually...just not right now.
