It has only the UMK3 stages, and the gameplay is atrocious. The Genesis version has pretty good gameplay, and the graphics aren't too bad, compared to MK2 Genesis at least.

SNES had far better graphics then Genesis for all MK games.

SNES had far better sound then Genesis for all MK games.

MK1 SNES had sluggish controls and Genesis had crappy gameplay.

MK2 both systems had equally non-arcade correct gameplay.

MK3 and UMK3: Genesis has much closer to arcade style gameplay then SNES, although still very different.

Couldn't said better myself, but being Pro Genesis(also own Snes), I prefer the Snes version of MK1 over the Genesis version because Snes(even without the blood) still look alot better.

There's no real reason to pick a Sega version over an SNES version.

MK2 on the SNES was the best MK for either system. I remember MK3 on the SNES looked and played horribly compared to it.

MK1 on the Mega Drive sucks.

Mk2 on the Mega Drive is nowhere near Arcade, but still fun.

Mk3 on Mega Drive is kind of fun, but mostly sucks, unfortunately.

UMK3 on the Mega Drive was really pretty good. That said, I've never played the real Umk3. The closest to Umk3, I've ever played was MKT.

back in the day i played MK3 with my friend on the PS1 for a long time, then came home and got it for the SNES. My eyes were bleeding.

If you have a good version of MKT for PSX then you have pretty much experienced UMK3 arcade gameplay.

The graphics of the arcade are better and it has fewer characters and moves (Sindel double fireball, stryker double grenade, Kung lao moving spin and double teleport, etc) but the actual gameplay of MKT is almost identical to the arcade.

So say if you were to use a character from UMK3 and not use any special MKT moves, you could do combos in MKT that will almost definately work in UMK3. This only goes for PSX though. N64 version is way off, similar to how off SNES version of UMK3 was. Saturn version is also off although overall its better then N64 I think, and the PC version of MKT is a direct port of one of the PSX versions, just not the final most refined version so comboing is easier as there is less gravity.

i'm just cirious, why people prefer mk1 snes more than mk1 genesis, the only thing that snes had is better sounds. other things are crappy controls, terrible and so BROKEN game play, no blood, other fatalities... everything exept sounds suck....yeah some better graphics too, but this is not exuse for terrible gameplay...

I remember the SNES MK1 looking better and more fluid, but the missing blood was the missing piece back in the day. MK2 remedied the SNES vs Genesis debate and then some.

I didn't find any version of MK1 had fun gameplay, they all pretty much sucked, just in different ways, so that wasn't a big factor to me.

And its foolish to say "some better graphics" when the graphics were infinitely better for SNES. Seriously, it is a massive difference between the two games. They went so far as to completely redo entire levels to make them use fewer colors. Just compare Goro's lair between Genesis and SNES. SNES is a lower quality version of the arcade, Genesis is a terrible Sega-made level that roughly approximates the original using almost no color and looks absolutely 100% terrible.

i dont play each of them either. but you say genesis had terrible gameplay, snes had even more terrible gameplay. the whole game is like playing it with 1 sec delay, not ot mention that one jk into corner and you are dead because of the infinites there and no pushback!? its heavy, ugly, no blood and annyoing even to watch it.

Are they the ducking kick infinites like the arcade?

lol, little easier then the crouching kick infs for sure. Reminds me of Kung's spin inf in UMK3 for SNES, they took out the disabling of the spin immediately after the spin so you can just spin in the corner without needing to get any hits between.

MK on MD was a lot closer to the arcade in terms of gameplay than the snes by a mile.

But it looked crap, so ppl thought it looked crap it played crap

while the snes looked good, so ppl automatically thought it played good

And some people think MK SNES looks good and plays like crap and MK Genesis looks good and plays like crap. Some even think the arcade plays like crap.

Me for one. MK1 its gameplay is terrible. MK2's gameplay is better but still on the road to being complete. As we said to some dude at NEC6, the main reason to play MK1 or MK2 is for fatalities. Not for gameplay.
