MK1 saw Johnny Cage and Sonya, 2 of 7, MKII was Mileena Jax and Liu Kang, 3 of 12, MK3 Sub-zero, Kabal, Nightwolf, Robot Smoke, Jax, Kano, 6 of 15, UMK3, Kabal, Nightwolf, Human Smoke, Kung Lao, Jax, Kano, Ermac, Robot Smoke, 8 of 23, MKT PSX Noob Saibot, Kabal, MK2 Kung Lao, Nightwolf, Baraka, Human Smoke, Ermac, Jax, Kano, Robot Smoke, Rain and if you want to include them Shao Kahn and Chameleon so that's 13 of 37, or, 11 of 32.

That's sooo true, cyber smoke is my fav to use in both MK3 and MKT because he's quick, has good combos and can set things up w/ the spear, as well as dodge and hit/start juggle combo with his teleport uppercut. I would also add Sektor to the MKT top tier list, if you unleash a barrage of missles he can be quite devastating - and he also posseses the tele-uppercut. He was improved on from MK3 just adding the two missles move, definately very useful fighter for me.

Sektor's Missiles are useless against a smart player. If you do a small combo to him, or just do a standing HK right before the missile hits you, they explode on you and do no damage. So whenever I see a smart missile come out, I just run in and combo without fear of being hit. Sektor is way way way on the bottom of the middle tier, or at the very top of the low tier.

my favorite MK game is MK1 because it was so well balanced...and NO WAY that Sonya is top tier in MK1, but I don't want to start this debate again, lets say that everybody is equal with Cage having maybe a small advantage

Nah, nah nah. I can just stand back and hit you w/ missles. I can keep u at a good distance from me and what are u gonna do? If u send a projectile I'll tele-uppercut you and start a juggle combo. If you run in for a combo of your own, I can keep you at a distance with the quick-fire missles. Sorry, but i disagree with the low rating u gave him. If anything, I say he can be very useful. But hey, u say u know more about MKT then anyone, so how would u beat my Sektor and who with? (sorry I don't have mame - so unfortunately this is all talk, but whatever) if your right, I'll agree - but I just wanna see who you'd use, and what strategy you would use?

I think krsx66 was referring more to the double missile move (b,b,f+LP). I don't really have a defined opinion on the tiers or anything, but I'm just sayin'.

I love it when people are talking about a fighting game like it is a slow turnbased strategy board game.

When you make X I make Y to beat your ass blabla..

You never played a good Human Smoke, Nightwolf, Kabal ect. player.

You cant keep distance against a good Nightwolf rush player, thats bullshit, and when you performing a Seek missile he run into you and give you a 40%+ combo.
Or better, Nightwolf uses his shield to reflect those missiles.
So you can do it 2 times before you die lol..
And when someone rush,s into you and you performing the straight forward missiles, he simply jump over it and start an extra hit jumppunch combo...
Those Seek missiles dont work against good players, only the noobs dont know what they do against them.
And by the way, what if you play against a Scorpion, HumanSmoke player?
When you keep distance and try to Seek missile they simply use the teleport punch.

I just played Killer Miller the other night (I'm $inala on Kaillera KM in case you didn't realize) so he played against me, the good H Smoke player. First off, I'll beat your Sektor via random select. Judging by your strategy I am confident that it's only a matter of utilizing the bare bones basics because you do not realize there are ways to prevent the homing missiles from hitting you. Trust me, I know what I'm doing, anyone who's played me will back me up on that. So to answer your question of who would I use against your mighty Sektor, anyone.

First STFU, you don't know me or have never played me in either MK3 or MKT so how the hell you can come up with that assunption from what I wrote in a thread is beyond me. Sektor is no where near my best character for MK3 or MKT - I've already stated that Cyber Smoke is by far and away my best fighter to fight with in either of those games. I can set up combo after combo w/ him with lightning speed - so don't imply I'm a novice when u have no idea. And I'm only defending Sektor cus I believe that when using his missles to keep a safe distance from any opponent, human or cpu, he can be effective. And as someone else pointed out in the MK3 combo thread - your tier listing is crap. If anyone practiced enough with any charcter in those games then they have a good chance of beating anyone. I have read before that you think that different players have different levels of effectiveness for the basic moves, and it is true that Kung Lao and Liu Kang have better uppercuts than say...Sindel and Sub-Zero. But to say that Sektor is low tier is dumb, because with the right amount of practice any character can be very effective. True or not?

why not get mame and fight him? I think Lao would thrash you but if you wanna back up WHAT you say, download the program and if you need the roms, Ill gladly be able to help you attain them. Its only a PM away....

Cmeth, with such low intellect, it's kind of easy to tell what people are thinking, and judge their character merely but what they say. He points out his Sektor Tactics that I know are way out of date, maybe you don't as you've stated you do not play UMK3 very much, I on the other hand have a lot of experience with it, and I can tell you, without any fear of contradiction, that his attempt at defeating me with Sektor would be the most spectacular failure in the history of Mortal Kombat. You can go ahead and ignore me, but face it, I only speak the truth.

Of course if you train enough you can be good with every character.
But there are always limitations in some characters.
Top Tier dont mean that NON-TOP-TIER chars. will never win, but the chance that a Kabal player against an ShangTsung/Sektor player (the 2 players must of course have the same skill level) will win are higher because of the advantage of Kabal,s moves combos ect. (this is only a example by the way)

I dont like Top-Tier list,s in general but there is in nearly every fighting game a couple of fighter,s that are more powerfull than the others.
Sometimes the differents are really small (Human Smoke VS Scorpion) and sometimes its very clear (Kabal VS ShangTsung).

Umm....I don't recall every saying I don't play UMK3 much. Only thing I can recall saying is that I play all the MKs still.

It's true you can assume some things from what people say, but only to a degree and you assume way to much. You act as if your somebody special when it comes to MK and you're not. Just another member/fan of MK on this board.
