But character would be Tanya, becuase she has the look, you know, the bad ass bitch of Mortal Kombat. And she has a great story. That's why I play with her. If thats what you meant.

Kitana, she always looks gorgious and has a lot of elegance...which comes back in the elegant weapons she uses, her fans, a princess worthy..very original..she is strong, emotionally and physically...I like her whole storyline and her whole appearances...although MK would be nothing without the neutral and evil characters, I prefer the good alliance...I dont know, she just has something over her which made me like her from the beginning...

My favourite character is Tanya... I guess you could say Im a *little* obessessed with her. Nah, she just reminds me of my favourite TV villain, Dark Willow (Buffy)... I just love it when good people go evil. And the thought of someone who would betray their own people and align themselves with the evil side is the most interesting character concept in the game for me.

The interesting question would be why people don't play certain characters
There are many well-designed characters, and I think MK designers did a good job when developing the outlooks. I mean, certain characters facial and other characteristics lure the various types of players.

brutal, hard core, full contact players would prefer Kano in MK1, becouse he is a tough guy, and of course mercyless. His designs equals this: bald head, muscles, a terminator like implant.

Theese designs also have a backfire tendency-some players will hate or just don't play some of the characters. Lets start with me: Tanya-I hate her, why? Becouse she looks like a whore, and her designs within the storyli-ne and her special moves are simply boring or schematic.

Why people play Scorpion or Sub-Zero mostly-or more precisely, why are theese two the most reknown-? BEcouse they both have more adaptive looks and may attract a wide scale of players. Everyone will have what he/she seeks in a character. Both mysterious, hardcore, mercyless, brutal, or simply goood looking and original moves and concepts.

Liu Kang because his combos are simple and easy to remember also because he's been my favorite character since MK1

Smoke is my favorite character. I choose him and I choose most new characters when I play a game by looks. When i first played UMK3 I used Smoke because he had that cool looking smoke coming out of him and he was a cyborg and thats awsome.

Scorp and Sub-Zero. The spear pulled me in and the freze is just cool. Besides the ninja look is just cool. And the spear is the first special i ever did and toasty was my first fatality.

My favorite character gameplay wise is Nightwolf but lets face it, his story sucks.

My favorite character story-wise is Noob-Saibot. After doing his MK:D ending I have liked the mystery that goes behind him

As a character, storywise and appearance Raiden is my choice. I'm drawn to the type of characters where there's some sort of relevance of mystery to them. But thruth be told when it comes to special moves within the game, is one of the weaker characters. The thundergod still rox though.

Well obviously mine would be Kano and before you ask no it is not because i am a mindless thug it is quite the contrary actually as i am he complete opposite of Kano. I am a big fan of ninjas and that means my favorites are the original MK ninjas Scorpion, SubZero, Kitana, and Mileena.
The ninja guys are mean cool looking and deadly, while the lady ninjas have great body but still deadly
And of course with ninjas being ultra secretive characters, it wasn't too hard for the MK Team to come up with all kinds of great story plots around them.

mine would have to be scorpion, i mean the dude was tricked into who killed the only family he had then the dude had him killed. THEN he turns and comes back from hell and goes to kill the guy....what cooler story line is there?? good job ed and john. you make us proud

For me its Baraka both game play and his look. I have allways been a sucker for a good freak char.

Scorpion and Kitana are my favorite characters.

I like Scorpion because I usually like the neutral, loner type of characters who don't care about anything or anyone. I liked that he was borrding tormented charcaer with a tragic life. But what I always liked most about Scorpion is although he is neutral and doesn't care about anyone, he always retained a sense of honor and nobility. Even though he's always neutral, somehow or another he ended up helping the good guys in some way.

And like Kitana for her story. I like that she's a tormented, conflicted woman who leads a terribly tragic life but still manages to persevere and keep fighting.
