yes simple mame cheats allow you to use noob, zeus also made a hack which put hsmoke and noob in place of stryker and shang on screen select

That is simply AMAZING! I cannot believe this hasn't been done to any other MK game, besides MK 2. I wish someone would hack the original MK so the bosses were playable and it wouldn't crash. I just hate using the hidden characters on UMk3 and all you fight on is the blue portal. Great hack BTW, are there any others?? How hard is it to hack something like this anyway, and WHY hasn't this been added to the MAME list? lol

Thats MKT and 16 bit UMK3. In the arcade he has no special moves. I've heard on the wavenet edition he has some kind of teleport throw or something.



Actually in UMK3 it is a ninja, not Kano, but he doesn't have any special moves. He even has a versus screen pic, just like Human Smoke does.



It really appears that Noob Saibot was being turned into a playable character in UMK3. It would make sense if that were true. I don't think anyone's accessed any boss or comp only characters before and had them work and the cheat for Noob doesn't do a whole lot more then otehr attempts at unlocking the bosses have. Also, in the version after this, Wavenet, he is playable, so there is probably a certain amount of code to make him playable in this game, explaining why he would be pretty much the only secret/boss character to be unlokced and playable via cheats.

There were cheats for Noob that you had to use originally by selecting a character, then immediately changing the value to Noob. From there you were limited as to what you could do without the game crashing. In the Zeus select screen hack, you don't have to worry about that stuff. MOE30W said he burned the data to blank rom chips at work or school or where ever he was that has the equipment to do it and played it on the arcade. It screwed up the first time but worked after that.

Human Smoke didn't need to be made into a selectable character, that could be easly done bu highlighting Cyborg Smoke, plus That Smoke is missing his smoke effect.

But anyway, i like the hack!

Human Smoke was put on the select screen so you can use two of him in 2 on 2 mode. You are normally forced to play as Robot Smoke for second character.

OMG, don't you know that you cannot use finishers with Noob Saibot?? He doesn't have any special moves or fatalities which is why it doesn't allow you to do them. Secondly, Shao Kahn doesn't say "Noob Saibot Wins," instead he says "It's official, you suck." Mortal Kombat 2 did the same exact thing, research a little bit and you'll see what I'm talking about, and that this video isn't fake.
