OK, some things I was thinking over.

===============

Shang Tsung's Island

Shang Tsung's Island was supposed to be sunk after MK1, right?

Goro's Lair is on Shang Tsung's Island, and yet it's still up in MKII.

Even though in MKII, they say Goro's Lair is on Earth, in MK Trilogy it is right underneath the Armory and Kombat Tomb in Outworld!

Then in MK4, Goro's Lair has spikes on the ceiling, you'd think the players would have hit them in MK1 or something, or especially in MKT when they get hit through the next stage - but no.

Now in MKDA, they act like Shang Tsung's island was up the whole time! Maybe it resurfaced? But they never said when.

===============

In MK2, they said Baraka destroyed Liu Kang's Shaolin Temple. The official comic even shows it in ruins.

But in MK4, it is up again - exactly as it looked in MK Mythologies, it's the same temple from even before MK1!

===============

Any comments or questions on this?

I never heard anything but the island sinking... where is that from?

I've only seen Goro's lair beneath the Kombot Tomb and Armory in one version of the game. They probably added that just to make up for the lack of content/gameplay it had in N64.

I think the spikes were added just for the fun of it, so people had anothe fatality to do.

What stages in MKDA are specifically said to be on his Island? Maybe he DOES have more than one. Maybe it DID rise up. There are TWO sorcerers. Some weird crap could have happened.

===============

They could have rebuilt the Liu Kang's temple. Maybe they didn't destroy EVERYONE and EVERYTHING at the temple. Just enough to get Liu pissed and enter the tournament.

I wouldn't trust MKTrilogy on the stage locations. Goro's lair being right under the Armory is kinda stupid, and Shao Kahn's cave being right above HELL (Scorpion's lair) is a bit stupid too, isn't it? ;)

You could not knock someone through the celling of Goro's lair in the PSX version, though the bosses all had super uppercuts, so either way if someone was uppercuted they would have hit the spikes.

That is true, if you uppercut someone through Goro's Lair into the Armory and then the Kombat Tomb, they would hit the spikes anyway!

I don't know what stages are on his island, but the intro takes place on it because that was where Raiden met everyone.

It said the island sank in the official MKII comic. Here it is as Raiden explains it to Johnny Cage:

Regarding Goro's lair, maybe he had a few of them...that...happened to look exactly alike. But the one in MK4 was the only one with spikes on the cieling. And like BAV said, I wouldn't put too much faith in MKT for stage locations.

And with Shang's island, it said it was destroyed because Shang died. But he didn't die; so maybe when the island's remnants realized that Shang was still doing stuff, they came back together. Shit, I dunno.

"This island was held together by Tsung's existence."

Well, seeing how he exists again, and is even more powerful than before in MKDA who is teamed up with another sorcerer, I could see why he would have an Island again.

But I think the MK2 comic would have said that his island came back when Shang Tsung got "reborn", if that's how they intended it.

The spikes could simply have been recently installed in MK4.

All the stages that had spikes and other crap were just put there for extra gameplay. But the MK story can be pretty confusing sometimes.

Yeah

Goro's Lair is on Shang Tsung's Island, and yet it's still up in MKII.

Im guessing his island can be reformed since its Shang Tsung's existence that holds it together and Shang Tsung returns.

Even though in MKII, they say Goro's Lair is on Earth, in MK Trilogy it is right underneath the Armory and Kombat Tomb in Outworld!

Yeah kinda fucked up.

Then in MK4, Goro's Lair has spikes on the ceiling, you'd think the players would have hit them in MK1 or something, or especially in MKT when they get hit through the next stage - but no.

This too is kinda fucked up-- maybe Goro recently had them installed.

The island was there to hold the MK tournament, but since the next one was held in Outworld, and the other games were wars in Outworld too, then the information about the island's return would've been useless, unless something would've happened on the island during the time between MK2 and MKG. But since nothing did, no need to talk about it.

About Goro's Lair, maybe it's just an entirely new lair that he has? I mean, he's been gone for a long time, perhaps he had another one built with spikes?

Yeah I think your right. The comics are not going to mention everything that happens. This is more of a plot gap or lack of info than a plot-hole
