Thinking of things that could happen in mk6 I wondered about the actual rules on inter-realm portals in MK. If Shang Tsung could enter earth through that portal in MKDA, why couldn't he use that in MK3 to pull Kahn's armies through... or was the whole sindel thing only so Kahn could take the souls of the Earth's inhabitants... I Tsung would of had to enter through that portal to get to Earth in MKI... is the whole tournament thing only to take over a realm or to simply enter it... If the Dragon King took Outworld would he have to fight through Mortal Kombat to get Earth as Kahn tried to through the first tournaments... If Edenia and Outworld were at War during MKDA were they connected still or were they seperated and Kitana could open a portal to outworld... and why would that be different than Kahn taking his armies in and taking over Earth... anyway just some questions I brought up.. maybe I'm mistaken about something...LAter

I don't know MKDA well. Are Outworld and Edenia separate things in that?

now that i think about it he brings up a good point. and the main thing i'm now wondering is if edenia is what outworld used to be, how can they both exist? well the only thing i can think of is since kahn supposedly took over many realms, only edenia and not the others changed back to normal. i hope the mk team can clear this up in the near future.

Before MK II Shang sent Baraka and some of their cronies into Earth to beat down the monks, so they've always been able to go through at least a little bit.

The reason Quan Chi and Shang Tsung are able to go from place to place in DA is the amulet. That was the amulet's power, the ability to travel throughout realms undetected.

Though that is kind of a plot hole, as MKM and MK4 hyped up how Quan Chi was a "free roaming sorcerer" and could do that anyway.

Maybe he lost that ability after he was taken to the Netherealm? His bio did say that he became weaker the longer he stayed there, so he probably lost his power to travel the realms freely, otherwise Scorpion taking him to the Netherealm wouldn't have been a problem for him in the first place. He could've gained that ability back after he was released. Or, if he was a free-roaming sorceror, maybe he used the portals "known only to sorcerors and dieties" to get around before getting the amulet.

I think, Sakura, that they meant Quan Chi would not be detected by the Elder Gods - but only if he had means of travel. The Amulet provides him those means.

In MK1, shang tsung didn't need some secret portal to get to earth, he was ALLOWED to go there, it wash is job as hoster of the tournament.

Also, there's a difference between sending a few people throught a portal, then an entire army, that's why kahn needed sindel.

Edenia isn't outworld, it was PART of outworld.
It used to be a seperate realm, but shao kahn annexed it to outworld.
Later, Kitana seperated the two worlds again.

In MK II Edenia(then unnamed) and Outworld were one in the same. Kitana's ending mentions her parents were "former rulers of Outworld". It wasn't until MK3 that they went with it being seperate.


If Quan Chi couldn't roam around until he got the amulet and found out about the portal how did he wander the worlds and gather all his power and how did he get to Neatherrealm to meet up with Shinnok?
