I just picked up a new copy of Mortal Kombat Trilogy(Playstation version) at E.B. yesterday, and I was thinking about contributing to the MK Warehouse. I need a PSX emulator, that can remove the onscreen layers to make sprite/prop ripping easier.

Any help is appreciated.

I believe ePSXe 1.6 is the best working one so far. It's pretty basic, nothing like snes9x where you can remove backround layers with the touch of a button. I can help you with that one if you're interested. I use it very frequently, since Trilogy isn't fully compatible with PS2.
Are there others, possibly one that can remove the layers?

Probably not because the layers aren't a part of the console, they are a part of the game. In systems like SNES, there was built in support for multiple layers because it was built for 2D. PSX on the other hand, the layers that you see on the screen were created by the makers of MKT and reside in the game itself so you'd need something that was built to remove the layers from that game specifically.

Maybe there is some way of using pro-action replay or something?
