I saw the locked thread, but I wanted to explain what this is.

MK2 does indeed exist for the PSX. It was a project that Acclaim was working on, but for reasons I'm not aware of, it never got released. It slipped out to the pirate community, though, and people are involved burning these games have it.

Based on what I have seen, the game looks basically complete. There are obviously some elements it is missing (the menu system is really boring and I imagine they would have made it more interesting if they were going to release it).

It's still not a perfect port. Graphically, it's fine, but the audio has a problem. If you want Shao Khan to announce the fighters and the rounds, the animation gets really choppy while he speaks. There is an option to turn this part of the speech off, though, and then the game runs relatively smoothly.

I would say that unless you are an avid collector of all things MK, this isn't really worth your time. Get MK2 on MAME instead.

MK2 was indeed released in Japan of 1996 my friend. Do your homework. PLus, how come this guy can talk about "MAME" and not get the thread closed?

He's talking about MK2 on PSX, not MAME, that's why, and don't use so many question marks like that that it bulges the layout, thank you.

If this thread is closed, it's because we already have a PSX MK2 thread still active on this page, not closed. Please keep all posts relating to it in that thread.
