Question about combos for the new characters in UMK3/MKT
One thing thats always bugged me about UMK3/MKT, is that most of the characters added only had one punch combo and one kick combo. EG Kitana HP, HP, B+LP, F+HP and HK, HK, LK, B+HK.
I'm pretty sure every character from MK3 had a punch combo, a kick combo and could link both to some degree EG Sonya HP, HP, LP, B+HP could be started with HK, HK. or SubZero HP, HP, LP could go into B+HK or LK, HK, B+HK.
It might be just me but i liked having the option to play around with the combo's rather than only two.
Any ideas why this might have been, lazy programming etc, or a means of balancing the characters?? (or do i just not know all the combo's in the game??)

If it ever feels lacking I blame it on laziness. But, there aren't many new characters with just punch or just kick.
In UMK3 I think Kitana is the only new char with just punch or just kick combos. All the ninjas have punch+kick combos and Mileena has one.
There are more in MKT without punch and kick combos but not too many and in general the characters are still powerful.

I was annoyed with this as well, I though it was silly how they turned combos for the new characters into mashing combos, as in, hold back or down and hit both kicks or both punches at once and you get a combo.
In MKT Noob Saibot is the only new character who has a combo that goes from punches to kicks, but the kick still does a punch.

Still would've been nice if all of them had the ability to link combo's, especially like subzero or kabal, i think there's like 10 different variations that subzero can do!
